Our 2025 Dona Stella Riesling is now available online — and our 2023 Dona Stella Pinot Noir, released mid-March, is ready as well!

Both wines are now available for purchase on our website; at the Walla Walla Farmer's Market on Saturdays, May through October; or at Dayton, Washington's, Blue Mountain Station's Co-Op. We are happy to ship anywhere in Washington State.

Enjoy our fresh, vibrant Riesling and beautifully balanced Pinot Noir — two distinct expressions from Dona Stella Wines that we’re so proud to share with you.

Our tiny house, affectionately named La Casita, is ideal for one or two people. This charming one-room accommodation was completely renovated in 2019 and features a full-sized bed along with a chair that unfolds into a bed. The sink and cabinetry in the bathroom were taken from my parents’ original house built in 1939.

When the weather’s nice, you can relax in the two chairs located on Coppei Beach or eat your lunch outside at the picnic table on La Casita’s patio.

Amenities include:
• French Press coffee maker/tea hot pot & cups
• Kit of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap, shower cap, and makeup remover wipes
• Bathroom with shower
• Outdoor garden area and access to Coppei Beach
• Wi-Fi/internet access
• Mini fridge and microwave
• Fully equipped kitchen

It’s been a while since I’ve introduced myself, so for those of you who are new here, welcome to Stella’s Homestead!

I’m Cheryl Hansen—your host at Stella’s Homestead. It’s such an honor to share with you a chance to experience the scenic property that has been in my family for multiple generations.

I returned to our family homestead in 2017 to take care of my elderly mother—who turned 102 in 2025. While here, I decided to clean up the property and repurpose the aging buildings—beautiful structures with family history dating back to when my parents bought the property in 1947.

Considering my love for antiques and finding new ways to reuse old things, renovating the farm became somewhat of a hobby project for me. Along the way, I’ve found many treasures rich with wonderful stories and nostalgic memories.

It’s my hope to honor my parents and the hard work they’ve invested in this property—and I find renewed happiness seeing how others use the property to find peace, connect with nature, and restore a sense of well-being.

A little history has returned to Stella's Homestead: my dad's 1949 International Harvester KB-1 Pickup Truck, fondly named Pinky.

We brought it back from my cousin's pasture in Mott, North Dakota, and are working on getting it running with a total engine rebuild.

Fun fact: this Homestead icon will be appearing on the label of our newest wine— available now!

🐾 Meet Tubby, the newest barn cat at Stella’s Homestead! 🐾

She came to us from one of our dear neighbors who recently moved into assisted living, and she’s already making herself right at home.

Tubby is fond of the heated water in the barn—and we’re impressed with her finely honed mousing skills.

Welcome to the Homestead, Tubby! ❤️

The views, the trails, the fresh air.

Just a short drive from Walla Walla wine country — but miles away from the noise — Stella’s Homestead is the place to reset any time of the year.

At the top of the hiking trail, you’ll find Indian Paint Brush blooming bright in the meadow — a little reminder of how beautiful slowing down can be. 🌿

“We loved our stay at Stella’s Homestead in Waitsburg. We wanted to have a fall getaway in Walla Walla and this was just a short drive away. Cheryl was a responsive and generous host. The farm scape and natural surroundings were simply amazing. We enjoyed Coppei creek running quietly through the property and spent time hiking up the nearby trails for a perfect hilltop view of the surrounding fields. This family farm was such a unique lodging experience and we’re so happy to have found it. We stayed at “The Shop” building, which was spacious with an open concept and 4 bunk beds. Plenty of room for a medium to large group and several pets.

Thank you for hosting us, Cheryl. We loved staying at your place! Your family farm has such a wonderful history and you’ve done a terrific job creating a new purpose with your property, while honoring its past.”

There’s a story in our wine, and it starts with Pinky, the old International pickup owned by my father.

Pinky sat in a field in the Dakotas for many years, until I purchased the truck in 2025 and trailered it back home. I plan to restore it for use at Stella’s Homestead.

And that’s where the name and the label for Dona Stella Pinky Pinot Noir 2023 came from.

A work of wine makers Rob Wohr and Chris Loeliger, the grapes were grown on Breezy Slope Vineyard owned by Jack DeWitt.

We’ll be bottling it in early March—so watch for our release! Available online mid-March at: https://www.donastella.wine/
