The Black Tassels Shriner Motorized Unit (High Performance Go Karts) Our meetings are held monthly at Karem Shrine in Waco, TX the third Thursday of the month @ 6:00PM. If you have the need for speed, come join us.

The Black Tassels is a unit out of Karem Shrine that run high performance go karts to compete in events sanctioned by the Texas Shriner Motor Patrol Association and International Association of Shrine Motor Corps sanctioned events as well as local events.

Like pirates, we came together as a crew... a crew who loves primitive camping, having fun and run go karts together.

General information

The Black Tassels formed in hopes to participate in the competition at the Texas Shrine Association convention in Ft Worth in June of 2010. We weren't able to compete in that event. However, we made our debut in August 2010 by participating in the Obstacle Course and we've been competing ever since. We run our machines in Texas Motor Patrol Association and International Association of Shrine Motor Corps sanctioned events as well as local events. We love to RUN! Any Noble in good standing of Karem Temple is eligible for active or honorary membership in the Black Tassels. Ladies and Widows are eligible for honorary membership in the Black Tassels.
