To all of the vendors who participated in Tanoshii Con last weekend,
We want to take a moment to speak honestly with you. We understand how incredibly disappointing the event was, and we want you to know that we are just as shocked and disappointed by the attendance as many of you are.
We advertised and promoted Tanoshii Con for over six months, in many different ways and across numerous platforms. In addition to our online advertising and promotion, we also had flyers distributed at multiple conventions to help get the word out about Tanoshii Con. We truly put a tremendous amount of time, effort, and resources into promoting this event because we genuinely believed we were going to see thousands of attendees.
After doing events for nine years and hosting Tanoshii Con for three years, we went into this event expecting it to be an amazing weekend for everyone involved.
There were certainly factors that may have affected attendance, including the cost of parking at the Ocean Center, the weather, schools starting back, and many college students returning to school. However, even with those concerns, we honestly never imagined the attendance would be as low as it was.
We understand the frustration, disappointment, and financial loss that many of our vendors experienced. Please know that we share those feelings. We are frustrated and disappointed as well. Why would we bring in amazing actors and celebrity guests if we did not genuinely believe this was going to be an incredible event? We invested in this event because we truly believed in it and expected it to be successful.
We know that words alone cannot make up for the disappointment of the weekend, but we want to do what we can to help.
As a thank-you to every vendor who participated in Tanoshii Con, we would like to offer you one free vendor spot at an upcoming For the Love of Shopping event through February 13, 2027.
We understand that this does not erase what happened last weekend or make up for the money that many of you lost. However, we sincerely hope these free event opportunities will give you the chance to make back some of that money and have a more successful experience with us.
If you participated as a vendor at Tanoshii Con and would like more information about this opportunity, please email us at [email protected].
We have also included photos showing some of the advertising and promotion that was done for Tanoshii Con. We want to be transparent about the effort that went into promoting this event. We worked hard for more than six months to get the word out and truly believed we had done everything possible to create an amazing event for our vendors, guests, attendees, and everyone involved.
Thank you to everyone who participated, supported us, and put their trust in us. We have been doing events for nine years, and we truly care about our vendors and the success of their businesses. None of this is possible without the vendors who choose to participate in our events, and we never take that for granted.
We are heartbroken that this event did not turn out the way any of us expected. We are taking this experience seriously, looking at everything, and will continue to learn and grow from it.
Thank you for your understanding, and again, we are truly sorry for the disappointment of this past weekend.
