This morning, District Governor Julie Sawyer, spoke to The Wood County Rotary Club at the Vienna Community Building in Jackson Park. A member of the Fairmont Rotary Club, DG Julie Sawyer expressed her appreciation and gratitude for each Rotarian and their dedication to “Service Above Self”. Her hope is for the empowerment of each Rotary Club to continue to serve in their local community to “Create Lasting Impact”. Julie spoke to the group about the goals and vision that our club has for the coming year and encouraged us to invest in the youth of our area through Interact, RYLA and other Rotary projects such as our scholarship programs that are offered. Julie encouraged growing our club membership through engagement and supporting and strengthening our club through communication and collaboration. The Rotary goal to eradicate polio is still a major focus of Rotary and Julie has a priority of raising $100,000 this year toward the program. World Polio Day will be October 24. Julie has posted office hours and welcomes questions and feedback to continue providing interaction to encourage club growth and development of service projects in each community. The work Rotary does in each community continues to create lasting impact. As each club serves in their community, lives are being changed. Thank you, Julie, for joining us and encouraging us in the work of Rotary.
