Vidalia Rotary was proud to hear about the wonderful work Rachel’s House is doing in our community. Rachel’s House is managed by Luis Gonzalez and his team, Alexandria and Katie. Together they serve at risk women in 15 surrounding counties by providing pregnancy testing, making referrals to local medical providers, offering parenting and adoption classes as well as counseling patients to make life affirming decisions. What a busy day we had yesterday! Our Club awarded scholarships to graduating seniors and had a great program by Karrie Page of HCA, which taught us ‘How To Stop the Bleed’. Thank you Karrie!

Congratulations to our 7 Vidalia Rotary Scholarship Winners!! Each student was awarded a $1,000 scholarship named after a Vidalia Rotarian, except for the Presidential scholarship. To be considered, all applicants submitted an application and essay. The winners are below:

Such an exciting day yesterday for Vidalia Rotary! Our 2nd annual Vidalia Onion Festival Golf Classic was amazing! We had 22 teams for a total of 88 people participating!! Our Club raised over $9,000 that will be used for projects that benefit our community. Thank you to all the golfers, club volunteers, sponsors, and Swainsboro Golf Course for making yesterday such a fabulous success. We can’t wait until next year!

Our club was moved to hear from Marie Townsend of TL Children’s Services. Ms. Townsend talked about her work with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). CASA is an organization which trains community volunteers, appointed by a judge, to advocate for the best interests of abused or neglected children in court, primarily those in foster care. Announcing our Winners for the 2026 Rotary Club of Vidalia, Annual Speech Contest, and what an incredible moment it was!

We had four outstanding students from local high schools compete for a financial award, each delivering thoughtful speeches centered on Rotary values and the Four-Way Test.

Every participant represented their school with excellence, and their presentations were truly inspiring. We are so proud of their hard work and dedication!

Winners are:

Our special guest speaker at the Rotary Club of Vidalia was Ms. Kaylee Randolf, who passionately shared information about the Altamaha Down Syndrome Society. She also highlighted the upcoming Uniquely Me Color Walk and Community Egg Hunt, scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2026, starting at 11 a.m., in Mt. Vernon, Georgia.
