Nothing like starting the week surrounded by craftsmanship. This custom timber frame is moving right along roof on, siding in place, windows set, and that interior timber work is a showstopper.

The structure is sealed up, the details are sharp, and we’re heading into the next phases of finishing. Huge credit to the crew for the precision and hustle that got it here.

Did you know it used to be a thing to drop used razor blades behind the bathroom mirror? 🪒😳

Back in the day, medicine cabinets often had a tiny slit in the back — designed specifically for safely disposing of old blades. Since there weren’t many safe options for sharps disposal, people just let them fall into the wall cavity. Out of sight, out of mind… until demo day!

We uncovered this hidden stash during a renovation — decades of blades tucked away like a time capsule with an edge. 😅

Project Update: From Timber Frame to Showstopper

This custom timber frame build is coming together beautifully!

Our team has been hard at work getting this structure weather-tight—from raising the frame to installing the board-and-batten siding and locking in that sleek black metal roof. The unique roofline, large gable windows, and cupolas give it a striking silhouette that fits perfectly into its mountain setting.

Still plenty of work ahead on the interior, but we’re proud of how far it’s come—and even more proud of the Jakelin crew, making it happen with precision and care.
