The Festival will be held on second weekend in September. It will include a Scottish heavy games competition which consists of the caber toss, sheaf toss, hammer throw, Braemar stone throw, and more. This region has an ample number of amateur and professional athletes that travel the area for these events and novices from the local community are always welcome to try out their prowess at these old war games and compete with a great group of athletes. Other events at the Flathead Celtic Festival will include bag piping and a massed band at the opening ceremonies on Saturday, a music stage with both local and regional performers, dance exhibitions, workshops, clan tents for genealogical exploration, an education into the Celtic History of the Flathead Valley, and other entertainment, as well as retail, food, and commercial vendor booths.
