This past weekend I sat back as a parent and took in the show more than usual. I get caught up with running around and dont get to "truly" see all the fun and beauty that these livestock shows offer. Our daughter Elsie who is 3 was lucky enough to show this weekend in the "p*e wee" division. She has watched her her sisters and brother and was so excited to hit the ring with "Lucy". These are a couple pictures that made me smile. This folks is ultimately what its about.

This week we would like to introduce Antonio Cano. Antonio is a new intern to Golden State Genetics-Showpigs and California as he is originally from Medford, Oregon, where he grew up showing cattle, which helped build his passion for the livestock industry and has had a huge impact on who he is today. Antonio is currently studying Animal Science at Modesto Junior College, with the goal of pursuing a career in bovine embryology and reproductive technology.
"I’m very excited for the opportunity to be part of the team at Golden State Genetics and broaden my understanding of livestock genetics and reproduction through hands-on experience in the swine industry". "I look forward to learning new skills, growing both personally and professionally, and applying that knowledge to my future career. I’m grateful for this opportunity and excited for the years ahead!" Cano says.

Antonio is driven, hard working and has so many great skills. He is also a Freshman member of the Livestock Juding Team at Modesto Junior College. We are very proud of Antonio and all he has done in a few short months.

We are so very lucky to have Luis return as an intern here at Golden State Genetics-Showpigs for a 2nd year.

Luis Gonzalez is from Salinas, California, and currently attends Modesto Junior College, where he is majoring in Animal Science. Growing up around agriculture, he developed a passion for livestock through his involvement in FFA and 4-H, where he learned the importance of hard work, dedication, and leadership. His experiences raising and showing livestock have played a major role in shaping who he is today and strengthening his love for the agricultural industry.

Luis has been a blessing to the farm and our family. He has had a major roll this past year of preparing, selecting, picturing and videoing sale pigs. His attention to detail is highly noticed and appreciated along with his determination. Luis is a member of the Modesto Junior College Livestock Judging team and we love to get his opinion. Thank you Luis for everything. Wherever he goes after graduation will be so very lucky to have him.

Love The Tucker Family
