Presenting excellence

On December 16, 2015, Russian-American concert pianist Vassily Primakov launched The Drozdoff Society’s Impromptu! Classical Music Recital Series at New York’s Symphony Space. Our series was conceived with several primary purposes: to provide opportunities for remarkable musicians to perform; to present the works of Vladimir N. Drozdoff to the world as performed by superb musicians; and to present concerts at price points that are affordable to audiences that cannot usually access world-class performances of classical music.

We are very making progress. On the first two counts, we have scored very high. On the third count, we would like to do much better. We haven’t quite figured out how best to do it yet, but we will find our way, with suggestions from you, and with support from our friends. We have been presenting concerts at huge operating losses, and cannot continue to do that indefinitely. AND we wish to remain self-supporting. Suggestions are welcome. Sounds like a rock and a hard place? Maybe. But we’ve been there many times! We believe in music, in art, and in excellence. We have that. We also believe in music’s power to heal, to potentiate human development, and believe access to it should be universal. If you agree, we welcome your ideas for realizing our goals.
