We're just going to leave this here before things get weird again.

LESS THAN 1,000 HALF MARATHON SPOTS REMAIN.

Last year, the Publix Gasparilla Half Marathon sold out BEFORE Thanksgiving.

What followed was a truly impressive display of human desperation.

Our DMs became a lawless place. There were bribes. There were sob stories. There were requests that probably should have been discussed with a licensed professional.

Register now. Or don't.

But please understand that your cousin's neighbor knowing someone who once volunteered at Gasparilla is not going to get you a bib.

And before anyone asks, no, we do not have a secret promo code either.

Some people run Gasparilla Distance Classic once and decide they've had enough.

Some people come back every few years, make the same questionable decisions, and eventually start a running apparel company with their kid.

Meet the father-son duo behind FatherSonRunningCo.

In 2011, Jett was just nine months old, wearing his dad's Michelob Ultra Challenge medals for a photo. In 2024, he earned those same medals himself, running alongside his dad.

Now, at 16, Jett has eight half marathons, a marathon, two 50Ks, and a growing list of distances that make the rest of us question our life choices.

Along the way, their shared love of running turned into FatherSonRunningCo, a brand built around encouragement, family, and showing up for each other.

They're also bringing that message to our Junior Gasparilla Distance Classic, donating approximately 900 encouragement cards for our youngest runners.

And they'll be joining us at the Gasparilla Health & Fitness Expo, so stop by, say hello, and check out what they're building.

We love a good Gasparilla story. Especially one that started with a baby wearing his dad's medals and turned into a whole lot more.

Traveling in for the race and the fam is staying at home?

Running your VERY FIRST RACE and want to share that moment or relive it?

Our friends at Tampa Bay 28 will be live streaming every finish line moment from the first runner to the last all weekend long. But wait...there's more!

You can go back and find your moment on their website after race weekend is over.

Want to offend every runner on earth? Call them a Jogger.

February 10, 1978. The Tampa Times declared Tampa was ready to take a big step into jogging.

JOGGING.

The entry fee was $3 for locals, $15 for out-of-towners, and race prizes included free admission to Sea World, a Big Mac, and a soft drink.

2,000 runners showed up, personally I think it was absolutely for the free Big Mac opportunity.

Fast forward nearly 50 years, and here we are. Thousands of runners, four races, a whole lot of pirate nonsense.

Some things never change. Join us for 50 years of running glory. Sorry no Big Macs.

No empty finish lines here…each year Plant High School girls Flag Football team supports our finish line and every year they make sure they bring the energy.

When you give it your all and maybe feel a little wobbly across that line, our friends at Tampa General Hospital got you!

Nobody hustles harder with a puke bag than this team, and we're grateful every year for their expertise, care, and support.

As one of the largest hospitals in Florida, TGH is the area’s only level I trauma center and one of just four burn centers in Florida. Show some love to this incredible sponsor and team!

The Jr. Gasparilla Distance Classic presented by Mendez Foundation has launched the running love of thousands of kids, ages 2 to 10. But 10 is a hard ceiling, and nobody stays little forever (we’ve checked).

We want the fun to keep going after the Jr. race does. Enter My First 5K.

If your kiddo ran with us in 2025 or 2026 and has recently aged out, check your email, we've got a fun opportunity headed their way.
