Join thousands of riders in the King’s Forest, Suffolk to take part in the ultimate gravel festival. From the Gravel Fondo and Gravel Race to live music and camping, this weekend is the ultimate celebration of all-things gravel. The King’s Cup Gravel Festival is proud to host the inaugural British Gravel Championships. While the King’s Cup is a gravel focussed event, MTBers are more than welcome.

If you are looking to dip your toe into the world of gravel, but don’t have a gravel bike, this event is an ideal taster of what you’ve been missing. The mixed terrain in the King’s Forest also means there will be areas of the course where wider tyres can excel.

Elite Gravel Championship
The British Gravel Championship Gravel Race is the biggest challenge of the King’s Cup Gravel Festival weekend.

The Elite Races will crown both men’s and women’s British Gravel Champions. The respective Junior Races will start immediately after the Elite events begin and run concurrently.

Race distance: approx. 75km (Elite Race) & approx. 60km (Junior Race)

Route: Racing will take place on approx. 15km lap

Eligibility: Open to all ages (16-18 for Junior Race & 19+ for Elite Race)*

Nationality: Riders from any nationality may compete but only British passport holders are eligible to win the British Gravel Championship jersey.

Lapped Riders: Riders who have been lapped when the winner crosses the line will be deemed to have finished their race when they next cross the line, and given a final position.

A separate Masters Championship will feature racing across all masters age categories, with British Gravel Masters Championship jerseys on offer in each. Keep scrolling to find out more about the Masters Championship.

The British Gravel Championship Gravel Race is the biggest challenge of the King’s Cup Gravel Festival weekend.
There are two distances for the Gravel Fondo, and in the Gravel Race you can compete for the British Gravel Championships plus there’s a dedicated Masters Championship as well. We also have a night ride aimed at families. All on fully marshalled courses.

The Festival happens between September 23rd and 25th, 2022, and as well as our rides we’ll have live music, family activities, food stalls, a bar, camping and even glamping. There’ll be an expo where our event partners will show their products.

There’s no event like the King’s Cup Gravel Festival and our second year will be even better than the first.

For 2022 we return to the King’s Forest, near Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk with routes for everyone including the serious racer, recreational riders, gravel newbies and families.

And of course we host the British Gravel Championships.
