CLASS SPOTLIGHT:
Introduction to Tapestry

Explore the art of woven storytelling with textile artist Heather Macali. This half-day immersive session is designed to guide you through the fundamental techniques of tapestry weaving, from setting up your loom to professional finishing.
🌟 Class Description
Each student will create a unique, one-of-a-kind tapestry using a combination of texture, color, and composition. This comprehensive class covers everything you need to start your weaving journey:
Foundations: Learn the essential process of warping a frame loom and basic composition.
Techniques: Explore a variety of stitches and methods including color changes, ghiordes knots, and sumac.
Design: Add personality to your piece with fringe and unique textural elements.
Completion: Master the professional finishing techniques needed to display your artwork.

Note!
Complete Weaving Kit Included: Your materials fee covers a full weaving kit featuring a basic frame loom, yarn, tapestry needle, and a weaving comb.
While plenty of yarn will be provided to complete your project, students are welcome to bring additional yarn or unique materials from their own stash to incorporate into their tapestry!

🧶 CLASS SPOTLIGHT:
Basics of Entrelac Knitting

Discover the "woven" magic of Entrelac with expert instructor Kimberly Langley! Entrelac is fun and fascinating—it's all about rectangles and triangles that are knit in a manner that creates a fabric that looks woven. It is a unique method of creating knitted fabric and is also one of the few techniques when knowing how to knit backwards is advantageous.
🌟 Class Description
In this session, students will learn and practice several units of Entrelac while knitting a Square (potholder) and learning the skill of knitting backwards. This hands-on approach ensures you understand the geometry behind the "woven" look while picking up a professional trick that makes working Entrelac much more efficient.

Important
Experience Required: Prior knitting experience is required. Students must be proficient in the following:
Knitting and purling with ease.
Being comfortable picking up stitches.
Decreasing (k2tog, p2tog, ssk), increasing (kf&b), and binding off.

We are thrilled to welcome fiber artist Leslie Granbeck to this year’s festival! ✨ Her famous "Bits & Pieces Bowls" workshop is a fan favorite for a reason—it’s the perfect way to turn colorful fiber scraps and yarn "leftovers" into a stunning, seamless felted bowl. 🌈

Whether you're a felting pro or just curious about fiber arts, you'll leave with a beautiful, functional piece of art and the skills to make many more! 🎨
