Just a few notes as we get closer to the show!
Safe travels! If you need anything before, during or after the show, my cell is 217-899-4590.
If you will be arriving Thursday and or departing Sunday, just let me know! We have the barn from noon Thurs through noon Sun. Anyone staying until Sun will have to depart the barn prior to noon.
If arriving after 10 pm Thurs or Fri night, the only fairgrounds gate that will be open is the Main Gate on Sangamon Ave.
Pens- the pens do not need to be cleaned out when you leave. The state fairgrounds does that for us.
Food- a reminder that Taft Concessions will be set up at our barn for Fri, and Sat (including breakfast). Please plan to support them! I will be posting a menu today or tomorrow and will also include one in your show program.
Horse Creek Outfitters- one of our gold sponsors, will be bringing coupons for shopping at their store just a short drive from the show. They were going to setup their mobile store at the show but unfortunately cant make it. If youre looking for western clothes, boots or decor, please go visit their store!
Taylor Made Crafts & Toys- besides goats, one of my other passions is collecting farm toys! Dale and Jane Taylor are like family to us and will be selling farm toys, etc at the show!
Pen assignments- to keep pen cleanout as condensed as possible, pens have been assigned and your name will be written on orange ribbon tagged on the pens. I will post a map of the building show assigned pens today or tomorrow.
If you made any additions or changes to your entries and havent paid those yet, you can pay at the time of check in.
Show shirts- if picking yours up at the show, and i dont give them to you at check-in, just remind me🙂
Jr doe class- one of the classes has over 25 in it. I will be splitting that class into 2 rounds. If you entered multipe goats in that class, i will try and split you between rounds. The top 5 in each round will record a placing. The Top 2 from each round will advance on to the Jr Champion/ Reserve Jr Ch drive.
Large show- once again, we have a large turnout and lots of goats entered! Thank you so much! We have approx 130 goats in each show. The plan is still to start promptly at 4 on Fri for Show A, 8 am on Sat for show B and 1 pm on Sat for Show C. The start time for the Sat morning show may be pushed back once i see how long the Fri pm show took. The Sat pm show will start following a lunch break/conclusion of Show B.
Entries- please double check to make sure all goats you are bringing are on your health cert and that all their info matches the MGR reg cert. Also, please double check that the info on your show entry form for each goat matches the info on their reg cert. I will need a copy of your health cert at check-in.
Covid precautions- Illinois still requires face coverings to be worn, recommends social distancing and frequent hand washing/sanitizing. Please bring your face coverings with you. To keep myself and the show in good standing, please follow these precautions!
See you all soon🙂
