After careful consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel After Glow, our final Parkchata event of the 2026 season.
This isn’t how we imagined ending our inaugural season, but an unexpected change following the incredible growth of Parkchata has made it impossible to produce the September 13 experience the way we envisioned.

When we launched Parkchata this July, we honestly didn’t know what to expect. We hoped maybe 150–200 people would join us for our first event, Color Pop.
Then 700+ of you showed up.
A few weeks later, after your videos, reels, and posts started spreading across social media, more than 1,200 of you came out for Summer Blanc.
In just two events, Parkchata became something far bigger than we ever imagined. And that incredible growth changed everything.
Parkchata began under a standard park-use permit, which worked for the smaller community event we originally expected.
But when 700+ people joined us for Color Pop, followed by more than 1,200 for Summer Blanc, Parkchata quickly grew beyond what that original event format was designed to support.
That growth meant moving into a different event category, bringing significant venue rental costs and additional requirements to safely produce an event of this size.
It was an incredible problem to have, but one we never expected to face this quickly.
We only learned about these changes two weeks before After Glow.
We explored every option, including turning the event into a ticketed experience. But charging admission meant more than simply selling tickets. It required additional staffing, systems, permits, security, deposits, and significantly higher upfront venue costs, all on an extremely short timeline.
After careful consideration, we made the very difficult decision to cancel rather than rush something together or deliver anything less than the After Glow experience we had envisioned.
We’re already looking ahead to 2027 with a new approach, exploring partnerships, sponsorships, grants, and other ways to build a more sustainable future for Parkchata.
Our goal is to keep this experience accessible while giving us the resources to safely produce the kind of events this community has shown us it deserves.
We learned a lot during our first season. Now we have the opportunity to take everything we learned and build something even better.
We hope to see you back on the waterfront in 2027. 💛

With no sponsors or grants behind our inaugural season, your support helped turn a little idea into two unforgettable nights on Seattle’s waterfront.
This chapter may be ending a little earlier than we hoped, but the Parkchata story is just beginning.
While I’m heartbroken that our season has to end this way, I’m incredibly grateful for the love and support Parkchata has received from our city, our dance scene, and this community.
