Our Story
The Monterey International Blues Festival is an annual music event held each summer at the Historic Monterey Fairgrounds— the same grounds that hosted the Monterey Bay Blues Festival for nearly 30 years and the historic Monterey Pop Festival. Part of the proceeds raised will benefit The Salvation Army and Guitars Not Guns.
Our goal is to be a strong local presence and to preserve the Blues, a great American music tradition, by introducing festival attendees to all of its colors, shapes, and forms, with the goal of increasing appreciation and thereby creating a new, expanded audience for the Blues. Directors and volunteers of this festival are a dedicated collection of music festival veterans and community-minded organizers who bring their talents, skill sets and enthusiasm to ensure the ultimate blues experience. The Board of Directors are Amy Treadwell, Lee Durley, John Laughton, Jackie Craghead and Judy Proud.
