It is with heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of longtime WestWorld Foreman, Walt Weir.
For nearly 30 years, Walt faithfully served the City of Scottsdale and WestWorld of Scottsdale, becoming an irreplaceable part of the equestrian community and a familiar face to generations of exhibitors, competitors, event organizers, and visitors. While we mourn his loss, we also celebrate a life dedicated to service, friendship, and unwavering commitment to the people and events he cared so deeply about.
To many of us, Walt was more than a foreman. He was the person you looked for when you arrived on the grounds. He was the steady presence behind countless successful events, the problem-solver who always found a way to help, and the friend who greeted everyone with a smile and a genuine willingness to lend a hand.
Many of us will forever cherish memories of early-morning tractor drags, coffee conversations before the day began, last-minute requests met with a smile, and countless moments that made WestWorld feel like home. His extensive knowledge of the facility, incredible work ethic, and sincere care for others earned him the respect and admiration of everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Most importantly, Walt built lasting relationships. He touched the lives of so many people throughout the equestrian community, and his impact will continue to be felt for years to come.
Walt will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the friendships he created, the events he helped build, and the memories shared by all who knew him.
Please keep Walt's family, friends, and the entire WestWorld team in your thoughts during this difficult time. We will share information regarding memorial services and celebrations of Walt's life as it becomes available.
Thank you, Walt, for your years of dedication, friendship, and service. You will never be forgotten.
