The Friends of the NRA banquet is coming to our local area of Schoharie/Otsego County. Friends of the NRA have been holding banquets in and around our counties for more than 21 years having all the fun without us. But, this year you can enjoy these fun banquets right here in our neighborhood. A new committee was formed in July and has been working on preparing for the event to take place at the Be
st Western in Cobleskill on October 29, 2015. There will be a number of limited edition fi****ms, including the 2015 NRA Gun of the Year — a Kimber Pro Carry II .45 — custom knives, artwork, optics and hundreds of other items that will be available as door prizes, live and silent auctions, special drawings and games. with a cash bar to preview all of the available guns and merchandise and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. Dinner choices include Prime Rib, Stuffed Chicken Breast and Seafood Newburgh. Banquet tickets are $35 per person, “Big Shooter” package tickets are $115 and include one dinner ticket, $200 worth of bucket drawing tickets and 10 gun table tickets which can be used to win a firearm of choice. A “National Sponsor” option is also available at $250 which includes a framed Second Amendment display, sponsor cap and Traditions magazine. There is also a VIP (Very Important Patriots) table package that, along with special reserve seating, consists of a table for eight with each receiving a Big Shooter package, one firearm assigned to each table for a drawing and 56 Gun of the Year tickets — seven for each person in the group. The cost of this package is $1,200 which comes to $150 per person. Someone at each of these tables will win a brand new firearm, guaranteed! As is the purpose at all Friends of NRA banquets, proceeds from the event go to the NRA Foundation, which offers local grassroots grants to support charitable, education, community service and safety programs benefiting youth programs, BSA, 4H, individuals with physical disabilities, hunting and marksmanship training, hunters helping the hungry, public open house days, range projects, etc. Because of the record-setting success of these dinners, the Friends of NRA awards thousands of grants all over America including hundreds of them across NYS. With your support we are investing in the future of the shooting sports and the safe and responsible use of fi****ms.
