ELIGIBILITY —
*Contestants must be a 7th – 12th grade student, attending a Junior High or High School within Santa Barbara County.
*Contestants may n
ot be represented by management, an agent, or under contract with a label. APPLICATION —
*Contestants must apply online no later than 11/21/21 in order to be considered. TeenStarUSA.com
*Contestants’ parents must sign online Agreements (agreement link will be emailed).
*Application & Agreements must be completed before audition will be considered.
*Contestants will be contacted on or before 11/29/21 if they are invited for a call back audition time slot. VIDEO AUDITION —
*Contestants must submit a short video of their audition song no later than 11/21/21.
*The first half should include the contestant stating their name, school, grade, name of song, and why they chose that song. Then, they should sing 16-32 bars a ca****la (approximately 30 seconds of singing).
*Instructions for video submission will be emailed to contestants after they apply online. AUDITION CALL BACKS —
*Contestants’ video auditions will be reviewed and approximately 20 contestants will be invited to an in-person call back audition on 12/4/21.
*Contestants receiving a call back must bring two (2) 5×7 color head shots to their call back audition. They will become the property of Teen Star and will not be returned to the contestant.
*Call back contestants are encouraged to present a different song than their video audition. Finalists will be announced – on Facebook.com/TeenStarSB and on Instagram
Starting at 8:00pm on 12/5/21, we will begin posting the Top 10 Finalists. Make sure you “Like” us on Facebook and follow on Instagram to see all the latest information and the Teen Star Finalists. HOW THE FINALS WORK: Each of the final contestants performs a song of their choice in the first round. Voting by text message, the audience selects their top choices and the celebrity judges choose theirs; the votes are combined for a second round. After the 2nd round, text voting occurs again by the audience and the winner is determined. Teen Star Winner Prize Includes:
• $1,000 scholarship
• Recording in world-class studio
• Radio and TV appearances
• Opening performances at major local events
• Prestigious title of Teen Star Santa Barbara
The Need To Support Youth Arts
Many youth arts, music and theatre programs have been eliminated or greatly reduced in our schools over the last several years. To help alleviate the problem, the Teen Star Santa Barbara program was established in 2010. We believe giving our youth an outlet to showcase their talent in a healthy environment will provide long lasting benefits for our community and our students as well as enhance opportunities for their futures.
