The Tomato Plant Spectacular Enterprise Project

The Cal Poly Tomato Plant Spectacular Enterprise Project (formerly called Tomato Mania) is a student-run, learn by doing experience. Horticulture and Crop Science faculty member Benjamin Hoover selects and leads a team of six students, as they grow the plants and plan logistics for the annual tomato plant sale in April. The team produces heirloom plants as well as the newest hybrids. The production list includes selections for the coast and inland areas. Profits from the project help fund the Cal Poly Environmental Horticulture Unit, as well as support the team of six students who ran the project.
