To all our Cabrillo Festival Partners, Friends and Supporters,
The Cabrillo Festival Inc. Board has made the decision to cancel the 2020 Cabrillo Festival. This decision was a tough one but given the concerns around COVID-19, we feel the priority is the health and safety of our partners and attendees. Our sympathies at this time are with those affected by the pandemic around the globe.
We will miss celebrating with so many from around the city, county and the world as the Festival commemorates San Diego's discovery, with education in history and cherishing our varied cultures and partnerships over time, and going forward.
We would like to acknowledge our longtime supporters, Luso American Development Foundation (FLAD), San Diego City Commission for Arts and Culture and the San Diego County Community Enhancement Program and appreciate them working with us during this pandemic.
Our partnerships with the Cabrillo National Monument, Naval Base Point Loma, Cabrillo Civic Club #16, Portuguese American Social and Civic Club, the House of Spain and Mexico's President Emeritus Cabrillo Festival, Nico Saad, are appreciated more than ever and we thank you for your support.
To those in the community who have participated in our cultural food booths, educational and art exhibits, vendor booths, and activities for adults and children alike, you will be sorely missed but we hope to have you with us at the next Festival.
Please take care of yourselves and let's take care of each other while continuing to do everything we can to help our communities stay safe and connected.
Thank you for your patience and understanding and we look forward to 2021.
Sincerely,
Patty Camacho
Cabrillo Festival President
