Spirit of '45 Day - San Diego - August 14, 2022

Spirit of '45 Day - San Diego - August 14, 2022 Spirit of '45 Day is an official US National Day of Remembrance for the last day of World War II. Celebrated with Allied Countries. This is it's 11th year.

We are celebrating with Honor Flight, a luncheon annually in San Diego: 1st Saturday or Sunday in August. Spirit of '45 Day is a National Day of Remembrance for the last day of World War II. We will celebrate this on August 14, Sunday at the Marine Village Convention Center Center.

200 WWII and Korean War Veterans, many invited by our friends at Honor Flight, will attend and participate. This

event, this year, is open only to Veterans and the person accompanying them. At total of 400 at this reunion. Veterans must make their reservation with Honor Flight. (800) 655-6997

Our local children from all over San Diego County will ask them, "Where were you on August 14th, 1945?" The cherished members of this "Greatest Generation" all know their answer, and answer the children with their stories, but also tell them and show them what it was like to be such proud Americans on that day but in the months ahead as USA set out to repair lives at home and abroad. They will also impart their values (value system) in place then, a united America which says a great deal these days! These WWII Americans are now saying more than ever and we need this educational activity. These children will tell their friends, family and future generations that there was a WWII, and that they met Veteran heroes who told them their stories and conveyed their ideals directly to them. Their lives will be better and our future generations will appreciate freedom earned by our Veterans and Hometown Heroes! Leaders will emerge fortified with better ability to make better decisions in life. We all benefit. This National Day started here in SD and it now in an estimated 1000 cities and towns across the USA. It's simple, kids asking a question, hearing and seeing American's values: secured in their minds and hearts all their lives. Many WWII Veterans are passing daily and their stories and advice vanishing. Let's thank them, cheer them and honor them for our freedom. Let's always create awareness, attendance and donations so everyone attend. HF will certainly send a press release to all media. This may become our next National Holiday. This Day can become a true full-fledged National Holiday between the 4th of July and Labor Day and this one focuses on issues our USA needs now! This short video will inspire volunteers and donors to help us! Once someone sees this video of V J Day, Victory over Japan WWII, I gain a volunteer! Take a look. It's public domain. Join us. http://vimeo.com/5645171

We celebrate every year in San Diego and all around the world.

Every Veteran has perpetuated the freedom earned by our WWII Veterans, their families, the the Greatest Generation. This celebration recognizes them and creates awareness of Americans then and the freedom we share now. Our youth can continue to tell their story!
