SPRO Frog Tournament- OPEN RULES

Kill switch must be attached to the driver and Life Jackets securely fastened anytime the big motor is running.

Frogs:

· ONLY SPRO FROGS MAY BE USED AND MUST BE WORKED ON THE SURFACE.

· FROGS MAY NOT BE ALTERED IN COLOR IN ANY WAY

· YOU MAY OPEN THE HOOKS

· YOU MAY TRIM THE LEGS

· YOU MAY ADD RATTLES

· YOU MAY ADD A SPLIT RING

· YOU MAY USE NON COLOR CHANGING SCENT.

· OTHER THAN WHAT IS MENTIONED ABOVE NO MODIFICATIONS MAY BE MADE. FROGS MUST REMAIN STOCK. NO EXCEPTIONS!!

Fish:

· 5 fish 13” mouth closed tail pinched on a flat board

· Dead fish is a .50lb deduction off TOTAL WEIGHT

· Short fish is a 1lb deduction plus loss of fish

Off-limits:

· Lake Havasu State Park South launch ramp from the point directly South of the ramp to the point to the West of the ramp.

· Within 50’ of a gas pump

· 25 yards from another boat first anchored with the trolling motor up

· Any area marked “No Entry” by local, state, or federal officials

· Watch the “No Wake Zones” especially in Topock. Once you leave the main river channel going into Topock it is NO WAKE the entire length of the channel.

Update regarding Lake Otay as of June 1, 2026

THE LAUNCH RAMP IS OFFICIALLY CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
The lake will remain open for Kayaks, Float Tubes and car toppers.
You must launch from the shoreline. No trailers are permitted to launch from the shoreline. If you can't carry it to the water, then you can't launch.
You can also shore fish and there's a lot of great shoreline with the water level being so low.
Rental boats are available as well.
We have John boats and pontoons.

DWR will end watercraft entrance inspections on May 22 at O’Neill Forebay, San Luis Reservoir, Pyramid Lake and Castaic Lake and Lagoon. Exit inspections will remain in effect to help prevent the spread of invasive mussels from these infested waterbodies.

As always, DWR encourages boaters to “Clean, Drain, and Dry.” Remove all plants and mud from boats, trailers, and equipment, drain bilge, ballast, wells, and buckets before exiting the area, and dry equipment before launching into another body of water. Waiting periods can vary – check with your local waterbody.

Dar 2 at Havasu. It’s a nail biter for sure. Much success to all.

The leaderboard is HEATNG UP. Anthony Garcia grabbed the top spot in the Pro division with a massive lead at 38.87lb, including an 8.57lb BIG BASS for Day 2. Meanwhile, Damon Motley leads a tight race in the AAA division with a two day total of 35.47lbs.

Don’t miss the FINAL weigh-in tomorrow, live at 2pm on the WON BASS page. The winner will be taking home a brand new RANGER Z5218 + Mercury 150hp ProXs outboard 😎

Great start anglers. Keep up the quality angling that is Western fishing.

Day One of the 2026 WON BASS Havasu Open is officially in the books, and the leaderboard is stacked!
PRO Logan Maltese and AAA Dennis Saiki are leading the charge with a solid 18.94 lbs, but the top 5 are all separated by less than half a pound!
Massive shoutout to Maxwell Cawthon for bringing in the Day One Big Bass, weighing in at 7.76 lbs!

Keith along with Al Tatum were one of the first winners of the El Cajon Ford San Diego Team Open. Both great fishermen.

On this day in 1988, Keith Gunsauls caught a 19 lb 8 oz largemouth bass from Miramar Reservoir in San Diego, California. The giant still ranks #17 among the heaviest largemouth bass ever recorded.

Alright guys we are 1 week away from our 2nd Anglers Marine Customer Appreciation Tournament of the year at Lake Perris. Entry’s have been coming in steady, the water is high, and the fishing should be great! Please have your entries in by next Friday the 6th at 10AM if you want to be in the boat draw. You may sign up morning of but you will go out last.

If you fished the first tournament you do not need to fill out another entry form you can just call the shop with your credit card information or come in and pay at either location.
