The Geekbound Fashion Challenge

The Geekbound Challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to make modern and stylish clothing that is nerd themed, and easily recognized from a fandom on sight, without entering the realm of cosplay/costuming. There are 2 categories: Geekbound Daily and Geekbound Evening, as well as an optional Side Quest!

If you choose to take the challenge, you will need to prepare and submit a colored sketch of your intended designs before May 31, at which time submissions will close.

Only the sketches are required for submission. More details about the Challenge can be found on our submission form (https://forms.gle/ashG1rrPTYLUBULaA)

If you make it into the Challenge showcase, your design will then need to be completed before SEPTEMBER 1ST, when videos of your final piece will be due.

We are so thrilled to have the BEST humans ever on our Geekbound Fashion Challenge team -- returning as judges, we are ecstatic to present Raine Emery Dvorah Neubauer Governale, and Kristi Siedow-Thompson !!!

Raine Emery is a Utah-based content creator, using her fashion design degree to showcase sewing, cosplay, and costume designing on her social media platforms.

Dvorah Governale has been sewing since she was 6 years old. She studied costume construction, achieved her Master's, and has spent her career designing for shows all over the country.

Kristi Siedow-Thompson is an award-winning fashion designer based out of New York City. She has shown work all over the country, and specializes in creating custom plus size couture looks for celebrities and drag queens.

We're happy to welcome back DJ KENKU to the 2025 Geekbound Fashion Challenge!

KENKU is a DJ and musician based here in Salt Lake City. Their favorite genres to spin are synthwave, disco house, R&B, and EDM. In their spare time, they enjoy video games, cosplay, D&D, birdwatching, and writing their own music. Find their remixes and other DJ sets on Instagram and on YouTube !
