We’ve been receiving a lot of questions about our next event— this is your reminder that Witch City Kitty has never been (and might never be) an annual affair 🐈‍⬛✨🐈‍⬛✨ While we love that people are excited about the potential for another Salem cat event to happen in the future, we need at least a year’s break from planning in between these. And if you’re wondering why, then you possibly haven’t had a personal conversation with the planner of these— she gets a little bitchy and needs an extended break in between (yes, she’s the one writing this post and calling out her own bad attitude 🤪😹). Anywho— the door is open for somebody else to plan a Salem cat event for 2025– we’d gladly support that! Witch City Kitty might be back again someday, but our brand is on hiatus for meow. If you’re needing a Salem cat fix in the meantime we suggest stopping by our other project : which is now open at 107 Boston Street in Salem 😻😻 We hope to see you again, just not at the nonexistent Witch City Kitty 2025 🐈‍⬛✨🐈‍⬛✨

✨✨The featured art of Witch City Kitty 2024 is one of the best mini cat art collections we’ve ever seen!! 😻😻😻We’ve already shown you a picture of the ghost kitty by (it’s here again) — also featured were two other local artists: Emily Kwong and Stacie Dolin 😻😻 Emily painted the kitty painting inspired by our mascot Sneakers (wearing sneakers 👟 no less) LIVE at the event itself 😻😻 You might remember Stacie’s work Brunhilde from the pop-up a year ago— it was featured again at the event alongside the debut of Brunhilde 2, Stacie’s newest carving based on publicly available images from the Library of Congress 😻😻 ‘s newest ghost kitty piece was prepared as a commission especially for the event ahead of time 🔥👻😻 Thank you to all three of our featured artists for bringing your best work for all the attendees to enjoy! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😻😻😻 And if you missed out, most of these pieces will be publicly displayed soon in the which will open in a few months (107 Boston St, Salem) 🎉🎉😻😻 Check them out again there!

✨✨Bonus gifts from 😻😻🙏🏻🙏🏻 It’s not a requirement to give the organizer of a cat event a present, but I am delighted to have received some all the same. 🙏🏻🙏🏻😻😻 The gift in the first photo is extra special because it’s from 2 friends in a chance collaboration: gifted me a few vintage pins a few months ago and I sent one to thinking it would be nice with whiskers in it 😻😻 When I originally sent it off to Jen, I had intended to try to buy it back if she didn’t want to keep it with the whiskers for herself…. But I then thought it would be too rude to ask to buy it when she posted the finished product a while ago because I wasn’t sure 🤪🤪 Turns out Jen’s intentions for the pin was to gift it to me at the event 🖤🖤🖤 I was so happy when I opened the box to see it again 😻😻😻 now I can think of my 2 friends when I wear it 😻😻

✨More WCK photos: This photo of the newest ghost cat-themed painting by is just a taste of the photographs of Witch City Kitty by now available through the Google link in our Instagram bio (or at end of post) 😻😻😻🖤🖤🖤🖤 Disclosure: I have always wanted professional event photos taken, but always run out of $$ planning the event before I can hire photographers (that giant Sneakers cutout didn’t pay for itself you know 😹). When Tyler surprised me and asked if I’d mind if he took a few photos pro-bono during the event, I didn’t expect this level of work to be done — but wow 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 I pretty much cried when I saw them bc they are just how I always wanted to see the event pictured in my head 😻😻😻 They are amazing— and Tyler has generously shared them with all of us! ✨✨You know it was a great party when the (cat) mayor showed up 🎉🐈‍⬛🎊✨✨ Thank you to , our other special guests I will list in short order, and all of our exhibitors that participated in 2024. Oh and the ~1k of you that showed up to Witch City Kitty for the third iteration 🙀😻 We managed to raise $1141 in voluntary door donations this year which will be split between our 7 participating nonprofits and Commonwealth Cats 👏🏻👏🏻 😻😻 All this while having fun amongst mostly miserable childless and children-bearing cat people (what!? There’s both?! And they seem to be having happy fun in public with cats?! 😼😹) Now, allow me to switch to first person as I thank the people personally that helped make this ALL really happen :

More info: there are several volunteer 2- or 3-hr shifts available 9/15 in the Old Town Hall; between setup (starting from 8am) to active event help (between 11-4) and breakdown from 4:30-6ish. All volunteers will receive a surprise gift 🎁 at the event 🖤
