As more information came out & Mr.Bringle's family came forward it became clear that this was an unfortunate incident caused by mental illness. We are sorry if our post offended anyone & hope that folks see we were simply echoing the questions and concerns that community members had.

We will absolutely respect the family's wishes and take down the initial post, our hearts are with them at this time.

St. Paul Police killed a man this morning, there is no body cam footage.

Murdered by the state without a trial, another extrajudicial ex*****on.

The struggle to prove that our lives' matter continues.

A man died in a St. Paul officer-involved shooting early Wednesday morning in the Dayton’s Bluff neighborhood, according to the police department.

In this moment especially, it is critical that we are showing up for Black Muslim folks.

Please support this young Black Muslimah who is working and studying in MN. Their car was towed suddenly and without warning.

This has happened at a time when they have no emergency funds whatsoever, even between their multiple jobs. To make matters worse, the City of Minneapolis is withholding their car until full payment of overdue parking tickets and the tow fees has been processed.

As you may know, Republican legislators in the Civil Law and Data Practices Committee passed HF322. This bill would put the burden of restitution on any individuals convicted for exercising their freedom of speech by protesting. We know that this bill is a direct response to the heightened presence of black leadership in Minnesota and the rise of the Movement for Black Lives. We also know that this bill will specifically target individuals most at the margins, being black and brown folks.

Today, many community members gathered at the hearing to express their complete dissent for this bill, yet the Republicans still voted in favor of this unconstitutional bill. This is not a post of defeat. This is a warning to those trying to take away our freedom.

We Ready. We Coming.

People often celebrate Dr. King for being a champion of peace, love and justice. He was those things, but he was also an organizer, a revolutionary leader committed to seeing an end to state violence and a restructuring of political systems that disenfranchised Black people and those on the margins.

Resist & Reclaim: From MLK Day to Inauguration is our way of embracing all parts of King’s legacy and the contributions of other civil rights warriors while pushing back against the hate and bigotry of the incoming administration. Organizers from around the country are planning actions and events throughout the week, each day of which has a different theme tied to an issue and/or community that Trump’s administration is threatening to harm.

Join The Movement for Black Lives and partner organizations during "Resist & Reclaim” from MLK to Inauguration Day, a week of nationwide actions from January 16 - January 20. Find more information or an action at www.m4bl.net
