This one-of-a-kind event brings together arts leaders and arts educators from El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, and Yolo Counties to honor those who inspire our school children through dance, fine arts, music, and theatre. After more than twenty years serving as Coordinator of the Teagarden Jazz Festival, I’ve officially passed the leadership to Erin Humphreys Treadwell.

What began in 2005 as a simple idea to support young jazz musicians has grown into something far beyond what I imagined. Watching generations of students take the stage has been one of the greatest joys of my life.

I’ll remain connected as Founder and Coordinator Emerita, offering perspective when asked, while Erin and festival director Steve Roach lead the festival into its next chapter.

Grateful for everyone who has been part of this journey. 🎷
