Sacramento Dog Show / Cal Expo Dog Show We can't wait till next years show! In the 60s, Cal Expo was built in Sacramento, and it became our new home every year.

The Sacramento Kennel Club is one of the longest-standing dog shows in the country, at almost 100 years old, as some of our first records date back into the 1920s. In the beginning, it was part of the California State Fair in the 50s where it was immediately recognized as one of the premier shows in the country. In the 80s, several specialty clubs joined us and our growth has compounded year-after

-year. Today, we celebrate one 4-day annual show, every April, and have become known for our outstanding show dogs, the competition, and as a great family-friendly event.

On Tuesday March 17, 2020 due to the Covid-19 Virus, Rich Vida was forced to cancel the Sacramento Kennel Club Dog Show, the Northern California Sporting Group Club, and the Sacramento Kennel Club's FSS Open Shows to be held on April 9-12, 2020 at Cal Expo Fairgrounds.

Also on that same day he negotiated with MB-F superintendent to refund all Entry Fees (minus $2.00 service charge).

Due to the rapidly developing COVID-19 crisis, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel the 100th Annual Sacramento Dog Show.

COVID-19 UPDATE:

Thank you all so much for your patience these last few weeks as the COVID-19 crisis has rapidly developed both locally and worldwide, and we work to determine what appropriate steps need to be considered and/or taken prior to the 100th Annual Sacramento Dog Show.

We have been in regular contact with our representatives at Cal Expo since news of the coronavirus outbreak, and as of today, March 16, 2020, Cal Expo has NOT canceled our event next month.

We are moving forward with our plans, but do have some recommendations for you. The Dog Show Entry Fee is non-refundable, and so we do recommend that you wait until the very last minute to enter your dog in the show, just in case the situation changes. We will update this page daily with new information, as we have it.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times, and certainly hope to see you next month at the Dog Show!
