We’re proud to support the next generation of marine industry professionals at Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School in Massachusetts!

Through our partnership with Whittier Tech’s Marine Technology program, we provide materials and technical insight that help students work toward their splicing certifications. Learning hands-on is central to what we do, and it’s exciting to see students developing their skills with the same techniques relied on across the marine industry.

Investing in students today means strengthening the industry tomorrow. We’re glad to play a role in their journey and look forward to seeing all they accomplish.

Yale Cordage is supporting the next generation of maritime professionals through its sponsorship of Maritime Throwdown (MTD).

At Maritime Throwdown, mariners compete in a timed obstacle-style course that replicate the demands of real deck work, including line handling, throwing, and knot tying in tense environments. There are four different divisions based on experience, from deck hands all the way up to Towboat Captains. Competitors often use Ultrex, our premier 12-strand single braid rope, during the throwing and knot tying portions of the competition because of Ultrex's lightweight and easy handling.

Also, MTD offers courses and workshops that provide comprehensive training for potential or current deckhands on proper line handling techniques and how to ensure safety on the water. We’re thrilled about furthering our support for the maritime industry through this sponsorship. Stay tuned to see more of our collaboration with MTD at Inland Marine Expo this month!

Yale Cordage was happy to attend the North American Open Masters Event (NAOM) in Tepoztlán, Mexico at the end of April. Our Arborist Market Manager, Eric Banderas, connected with climbers and supported the arborist community throughout the event.

It was a strong showing for Yale in the Masters Climber Final, with three of the five finalists climbing on Yale Arborist Ropes, including XTC-32 and XTC-24. The first-place competitor ultimately took the win using Yale rope, reinforcing the trust climbers place in our products when performance matters most.

We appreciate the opportunity to be part of events like NAOM and to see our gear put to the test at the highest level.

Earlier this spring, Eric Banderas, our Arborist Market Manager, had the opportunity to lead a Rope 101 presentation for a group of more than 40 arborists in Decatur, Georgia. Hosted by the Georgia Arborist Association, Inc. the session focused on reinforcing the fundamentals that matter most in the field—rope construction, proper selection, handling, inspection, and real‑world applications.

The class brought together arborists from across the region for a hands‑on, interactive discussion centered on safety, performance, and best practices. From understanding how different rope constructions behave under load to recognizing wear indicators and extending service life, the presentation emphasized practical knowledge arborists can apply immediately on the job.

We’re proud to collaborate with organizations like the Georgia Arborist Association to support ongoing education within the arborist community. Sharing knowledge at the foundational level helps create safer work environments, more informed decision‑making, and stronger outcomes for everyone working aloft.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to a great session. We look forward to continuing to support education and skill‑building initiatives throughout the arborist industry.
