🚨📬 Fluorspar Festival Mail Alert! 📬🚨

In the next week or two, letters from the Fluorspar Festival will begin appearing in mailboxes across Hardin County and beyond.

Before long, the conversations will start:

👀 “Did you get your Fluorspar Festival letter yet?”
🤔 “Wait… you got one and I didn’t?”
😲 “Who do I need to talk to about this?!”

Rumor has it the streets of Hardin County will be buzzing with speculation, conspiracy theories, and mailbox stakeouts as everyone tries to figure out who received a letter and who didn’t. 😂

But in all seriousness, I mailed out 167 letters to churches, organizations, businesses, and community supporters. While that sounds like a lot, I’m sure it doesn’t come close to including everyone who may want to be involved with this year’s festival.

If you don’t receive a letter and would like information about becoming a sponsor, volunteer, or helping support the 62nd Annual Fluorspar Festival in any way, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’d love to have you be part of making this year’s festival the best one yet!

I asked Tom Lathery Sr. of Not The Norm Woodworking to build a mine cart that could be displayed in the window of the Rosiclare Craft & Antique Mall and decorated throughout the year. My hope was to create something that would catch people's attention, spark conversations, and provide an opportunity for both mall visitors and community members to share the story of Hardin County's rich mining heritage.
Tom absolutely knocked it out of the park with his craftsmanship. The finished mine cart exceeded my expectations and beautifully represents an important part of our county's history. When he completed the project, he presented it to me just in time for it to be displayed in the mall window for the Rosiclare Craft & Antique Mall's opening, which is expected very soon.
I am incredibly thankful to everyone who has donated their time, materials, knowledge, and skills to help ensure that we can continue celebrating our heritage and keeping the Fluorspar Festival strong for years to come. I am amazed by how wonderful the mine cart turned out, and I can't wait to decorate it throughout the year and share it with the community. My hope is that it becomes a meaningful display that helps tell the story of our county.

I’ve been a little quiet this week, but for good reason — We have been hard at work on the Rose Clare Antique & Craft Mall.

A lot of progress is being made behind the scenes with cleaning, organizing, painting, and getting everything ready to open back up. It’s coming together more and more every day, and I can’t wait to share the finished results with everyone soon!
