We regret to inform you that Our Universe: A Weekend Celebration of Burlesque & Drag scheduled for August 22-23 at 5 Points Music Sanctuary has been postponed indefinitely.
This decision was made jointly by Bebe Demure and Ryatt Flair after careful consideration of an ongoing pattern of unprofessional behavior and communication breakdowns that have escalated over time. Despite our years of working together, we have determined that we can no longer ensure a respectful and welcoming environment for our cast, crew, and attendees.
As producers of a festival that celebrates burlesque and drag, we are committed to ensuring that it takes place in an environment that honors the historical and ongoing importance of these art forms as safe, empowering spaces for women, q***r, and POC artists and audiences. When professional communication and collaboration break down to the point where we cannot guarantee this standard and our festival’s mission, we will always prioritize the safety and dignity of our community.
Additionally, all Dusk/Dawn Productions events scheduled at this venue for the remainder of 2025 will be cancelled and relocated to venues that align with community principles and the company values.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our attendees, sponsors, and partners. We are actively working to secure alternative venues that better reflect our commitment to creating welcoming and respectful environments for all participants.
