Hello Final Boss Con! Five years of FBC and 3 with yours truly at the helm of the cosplay ship.

Firstly I want to extended my thanks to my cosplay competitors this year. I feel like I got to know a little something cool about each and every one of you. Especially my first time cosplayers! You are so creative and you inspire those of us who might be a little afraid to try something new.

To my veteran cosplayers whom I see every year, both in and out of cosplay I want you to know how much I value our friendship and comradery as craftsman, as performers, and slaves to the horrible sewing machine gods that put thread birds nests on the wrong side of our beautiful expensive fabric.

To my lovely judges! Thank you so much for coming back to sit at my judges table this year. I want you to know how much I value your time and I also value your feedback on things that sometimes work and sometimes don't work so well. We all know how hard it is to sit a table and decide on a winner. You were all so lovely and I can't wait to see you again!

I want to thank the attendees! Not just for cheering for my cosplayers, but also for shopping at my daughter’s booth! Lydia’s Limited Prints was a first time vendor this year and she was so happy to share her art with you all. Everyone was so gracious and nice to her, and it makes me happy to see the wonderful welcoming community we have built her in Gallia County.

Before we get to the last few thank yous, do we want to hear the announcements again?

I want to thank the volunteers and staff! You stopped by to make sure we had everything. The set up, the break down, the wrangling of special guests and the carts of snacks.

Finally Kaitlyn and Mackenzie! I don’t even know where to begin. Thank you for continuing to bring me along for the Final Boss Con ride.

Every year I think cosplay event goes even better. Will there be more changes and improvements next year? Yes, always! But this year I feel that I managed to create something really great! I went home and felt closest I’ve ever been to my goal of creating the most fun event imaginable!

Regardless, I wouldn’t be here, standing on stage in my huge frilly dress without you. Without the Halley’s, without my husband Wesley, my family, without the special guests, without the volunteers, food trucks, vendors, my cosplayers… Without you, I am just a lady with bows in her hair standing in the dark.

That said, all of you have received summons to attend the court! Rio Renaissance Faire, September 12th in the year of 2026! We shall make merriment and look fabulous doing it!

⚔️Behind the Swords⚔️

Title: Did you feel that?

The last weekend in April has come to pass, FBC has now come to pass. Just as any video game it had new and challenging levels, jump scares that get us everytime and many new characters. We have been a head all weekend, never falling behind. We are still not done packing, tearing down and putting away...

We just don't want to finish this level yet....Without a answer. Did you feel that?

No, it was not the heat (we had the coolest year ever), no it was not that stupid mat we all tripped over. It was not the joy and excitement you have every year. It was not the smile on your face all weekend long. I know you are like, bud! Then what are you talking about!?!

I know it may seem dumb, but I can't fully explain it....it was like the world stopped. Like the moment of being a child again was just there. No outside worries, no cares for that moment. The other feeling was that we all were one, vendors, fans, staff.

We had more people, really take proud in FBC. THIS IS how a SOUTHEASTERN OHIO Appalachian CON comes together and puts on a show! This is all our Con, we are going to show everyone who walks through them doors how a little southern hospitality works.

Every year everyone says how nice the fans are, how amazing the vendors are to them, how they all seem so happy. They talk about how the volunteers are "the best they have ever worked with". You all are amazing, every fan, everyone on staff, every vendor and ever guest.

Let me share this last bit from my brain that has got 11 hours of sleep since Thursday. The special guests truly loved you all. Year after year all of them say how incredible you all are. One said this was his top 3 show ever. One said they have not been treated this well at any event that have made it to....One said how this has been some of the nicest group of people he has been about to be with. All the special guests had nothing but amazing this to say more then normal too. Thank you all for being the amazing people that you are. For making life easier. Make this worth it, for pushing the limits of what we feel we can do.

I told the guests how they will never understand what they have done for so many fans this weekend. I said many of us don't get to travel, can't pay $50 to get into a event after driving far away too it (I am not saying don't do that, I am saying I have lived here long enough and we understand) I said fans have told me this has been one of the best things to happen, to this area. Thank you to all of the guests who came out. Thank you to all the fans and thank you so much for all the volunteers. Truly thank you!

Last thing...we did it! You all did it. We reach something we only dreamed about..we had 2000plus people filll these great gyms! Unbelievable, unreal. It's never really about the numbers it about that last text before year one "1 or 1000, we give them best show they have ever seen". We hope we have gave you a great show or a great moment atleast ones.
