It's with a heavy heart that I'm going to cancel the Davidson tournament this year. Unfortunately we just don't have enough teams to make it work.

A couple things contributed to this, including myself not posting it early enough I feel, but also, it is only myself, April Radcliffe, and my second cousin Linda Beauchamp doing the groundwork on making this tournament run now. I really want to try again for next year and I don't want this to fizzle out, so I am begging for people to step up and help out next year.

I will try to get a date for next year finalized by October and Google meets on the tournament starting in November so we are more prepared.

It was also my first year as a varsity coach, so it was a very busy and stressful November-March.

If you would like to volunteer or help out next year please reach out!

I'll reach out to teams about the cancellation.

Hope to see you next year!

Good Afternoon! We're under 30 days away from the scheduled tournament date!

A couple things...I'm still looking for 8 more teams. If we cannot get 8 more teams, we will not host it this year. I really don't want to do this, so please reach out to other teams!

Again, it's really hard for me to do this down here...so if someone can reach out up there to some local teams and see if we can get more that would be great!

$250/team.

I'm going to put the cutoff on finding teams to this upcoming Friday, March 21st.

Let's keep this tournament going!

Teams as of right now:
1. Flintstones
2. Blake Giese
3. Brad Waters
4. AdvantEdge
5. Fast Eddie
6. Barron's Auto Repair
7. Nick Racine
8. Gauthier Insurance
9. The Marborlo Men
10. Eli Luokkala
11.
12.
13.
14.
15.
16.

Thanks,

Jarrett

Hey all, let's make this the formal post in search of teams!
So far:
1. Flintstones
2. Blake Giese
3. Brad Waters
4. Dustin Brancheau
5. Fast Eddie
6. Barron's Auto Repair
7. Nick Racine
8. Gauthier Insurance
9.
10.
11.
12.
13.
14.
15.
16.

I'm looking for 16 teams...I really don't want to scramble a different bracket for under 16.

As of the last google meet, it appears that I am going to have to run most of this with only the help of April Radcliffe, Linda Beauchamp, and myself.

I'm going to be honest...this is really hard for me to do down in Wisconsin, and if we'd like this to continue, I am asking that some people please step up and help out. I will host another Google meet this next week (not sure on the date/time yet) and hopefully some people that would like to see changes/improvement to the weekend help out!

If you have anything else, feel free to reach out to me directly on here, or by my cell if you have it.

Also, if I haven't reached out to previous teams, I will be early next week.

Thanks!

-Jarrett

Happy Sunday all!

Sorry for the late notice but with basketball this year it's been very hectic. We have an official date for the tournament!

This year it will be April 11/12/13.

I am looking for a lot of help this year so if this is something you'd like to help out with (whether it's finding teams, officials, sponsors, raffle baskets, volunteers, live streaming, apparel, etc.) I will be having a google meet to discuss these on Wednesday February 26 at 8PM eastern/7PM central.

Also, we're open for teams now, so feel free to get a hold of me through either this post, or through my email or cell.

I will post the event shortly.

Hope to see you all there!

Day two is in the books! There are still some shirts, long sleeves, sweatshirts available to purchase, so bring some cash OR CARD tomorrow, and we'll get you apparel.

Here's a recap of day 2!

Game 1: Flint Stones 100 - Open Gym Warriors 48
Reggie, Tyler, and Rashad all combined for 14 a piece, which was way too much for the 16 from Kyle Norwood of the Warriors.

Game 2: Rock Solid 84 - Make a Wish 51
Payton Nelson led Rock Solid with 23, while Andrew Niemi led Make a Wish with 18.

Game 3: Fast Eddie 64 - The Swingers 46
Although Justin Nelson had 18 for The Swingers, it wasn't enough as Fast Eddie had 22 from Zach Carlson.

Game 4: ReMax 69 - Everything Hurts 34
I think Jake Dodge wanted to end the game at this score for the high school humor of the score, as Mark Kinnunen was a leading scorer with 6 for Everything Hurts. Jason Gravedoni put in 22 for ReMax to lead the charge.

Game 5: Flint Stones 95 - The Bad Guys 40
Omar piled in 20 for the Stones, while Ben Rubick was able to put in 8 to lead The Bad Guys.

Game 6: AdvantEdge 90 - Rock Solid 66
Donovan Short put in 21 for Rock Solid, but it wasn't enough for the 8, yes 8, 2nd half 3 pointers for Dustin Brancheau, who led all scorers of the day with 34 points.

Game 7: Carey/Sodegran 63 - Prestige Worldwide 32
Thomas Finegan led Prestige with 10, but Toni Marietti led all scorers with 22, which was more than enough to lead the defending champs into a semifinal game.

Game 8: Argall Excavating 38 - Free Head Shots 69
Griffin Argall led the Excavators with 14 points but it wasn't enough, as Joe Heinonen doubled that (28) for Free Head Shots. Unfortunately Joe did get hurt during that game and we wish him the best of results and a good road to recovery.

Game 9: Rock Solid 74 - Open Gym Warriors 58
Surprisingly the Open Gym Warriors kept it within 10 points until about the 10 minute mark of the 2nd half, but Peyton Nelson was just too much, as he poured in 28. Nick Blum put in 4-3's for the Warriors and finished the day with 15 in the second game.

Game 10: Make a Wish 69 - The Bad Guys 42
Andrew Niemi led all scorers in the game with 21 for Make a Wish, while Alex Sundberg dropped in 14 for The Bad Guys.

Game 11: ReMax 75 - Fast Eddie 71
Cadence Pelizzer dropped in 33 points for ReMax, and it was enough to top the leading scorer for Fast Eddie, Zach Carlson, who had 21 tough points.

Before game 12, we had the 3 point contest, where 5 contestants competed in it! We would love to have more next year.
With one and only one round completed, Jarrett Davidson and Dustin Brancheau both tied for the lead. They went to a tie breaker where Jarrett hit one more three. Very close battle, and some of you are probably thinking there was some rigging involved there...I'll let you be the judge of that ;)

With the night cap, we saw one of the two A semifinal games: Carey/Sodegran 62 - Free Head Shots 52
With Joe out, Free Head Shots relied on Austin Carlson to dump in 15 for them, to lead all scorers. But if you've seen the defending champs play, they know how to distribute the ball well, and were able to sustain a lead, with the help of 14 points from Josh Makela.

We hope to see you all tomorrow!

Games tomorrow:
Semi-Final B @ Noon: Rock Solid vs. Make a Wish
Semi-Final A @ 1 PM: AdvantEdge vs. Flint Stones
Final B @ 2 PM: ReMax vs. Winner @ Noon
Final A @ 3 PM: Carey/Sodegran vs. Winner @ 1 PM
We hope you come out, and if not, the finals games will hopefully be livestreamed!

04/20/2024

Day 1 is complete!

Thanks to all the teams that have played so far. Great sportsmanship from all.

Recap:
Game 1 - Carey/Sodergran 66, The Swingers 49
Jesse Duren (Swingers) put up 4-3's to total 18, but it wasn't enough to beat the defending champs, who were led by Tony Marietti with 16.

Game 2 - Prestige Worldwide 43, Fast Eddie 41
A key layup as time neared the end was the difference. Zach Carlson (Fast) led all scorers with 17, and Matt Malone led Prestige with 9.

Carey/Sodergran will play Prestige Worldwide at 3PM Saturday, while Fast Eddie will play The Swingers at 11 AM.

Game 3 - Argall Excavating 67 - Everything Hurts 42
Boone Bell knocked in 15 points for Argall Excavating which was too much for Everything Hurts, who was led by Brandon Frisk (12 pts).

Game 4 - Free Head Shots 80, ReMax 70
24 points from Austin Carlson was enough to lead the team to a 10 pt win over ReMax, who was led by Cadence Pelizzer with 23.

Argall Excavating will play Free Head Shots tomorrow at 4PM Saturday, while Everything Hurts will play ReMax at Noon Saturday.

Hope to see everyone tomorrow for day 2!
