We are so thankful to everyone who turned up to the first Cascadia Renaissance Faire and Highland Festival. This was a truly unique event blending Celtic culture with Renaissance Faire flair.
Thanks to all the performers, vendors, and patrons who joined us at Cowlitz River Rentals, hosted by The Gilded Thistle.
We were serenaded by The Borealis Bard , Clergy of Errors, Pëtrichør, The Glensiders, Celia Farran Music & Comedy Page, Coreyanne’s Pïpę Dream & Other Musical Escapades, Luna Sphere, and The Plastic Paddies. Siyrren's Song Dance Company and Wyk the Pyed Piper enchanted us, and we met Herman the Giant Ogre.
Our minds were enriched as we learned Gaelic from
Slighe nan Gaidheal learned clan history from the Kennedy, MacLean, Maxwell, and Ross Scottish clans, and watched rocks, sheafs, and cabers being thrown by amazing highland game athletes.
We witnessed the excitement of the Seattle Knights as they jousted for the queen's favor, the skill of the Combat Corps Spokane sword-fighting demonstrations, and the gunpowder-fueled power of the pirates' cannon show.
Friday night left us wanting more as we were rocked by Strange & the Familiars, Twisted Knickers, the mythic Nordic Daughter, and the world renown Abney Park.
