As the old year fades and the new one dawns, we raise a toast in true Scottish tradition and celebrate Hogmanay—Scotland’s legendary New Year celebration filled with fire, friendship, and fresh beginnings.

Hogmanay is a time for letting go of the old, welcoming good fortune, and stepping boldly into the year ahead. From the glow of lanterns and bonfires to the cherished custom of first-footing, this night is about community, warmth, and hope.

As we look toward the year ahead, our hearts are full with excitement for what’s to come—new partnerships, new adventures, and the continued building of the Cascadia Renaissance Faire & Highland Festival. May the coming year bring strong friendships, roaring laughter, and plenty of magic.

🏴✨ Happy St. Andrew’s Day! ✨🏴

Today we celebrate St. Andrew’s Day, honoring Scotland’s patron saint—a humble fisherman turned apostle, whose symbol, the white saltire on blue, became the national flag. St. Andrew’s connection to Scotland dates back over a thousand years, when his relics were said to have been miraculously brought to the town now known as St. Andrews. Ever since, November 30th has been a day of pride, unity, and cultural celebration.

As we mark this special day, we at the Cascadia Renaissance Faire & Highland Festival celebrate the traditions, legends, and laughter that unite us. From clans and craftsmen to athletes and storytellers, the spirit of Scotland lives on in every drumbeat, every lifted sword, and every step of the dance.
