After the 2003 National Convention, Beta Alumnae, Liz Gutierrez and Kerry Vallant, met with Alpha Alumna, Desiree Downs, to discuss the idea of starting a GAP chapter based in the Triangle (Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill, NC). All agreed this was a good idea and set out to find additional sisters to take part in the project. The ladies soon recruited Alpha Alumna, Megan Cornish and GAP Sisters, T
onya Walton and Linda Kress. These dedicated women met over several months to establish a strong foundation for their chapter and on April 16, 2004, the Xi Theta Chapter of Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority, Inc. The mission of Xi Theta is to establish social support networks for the graduate, alumnae, and professional sisters living in the Triangle and to serve as a resource for the undergraduate chapters in the area. We also strive to serve our community through service efforts and education about multiculturalism. Xi Theta Founders
