Two months to go.

Last November was the inaugural Rock CF Thumb Coast Marathon. We knew we had a great course, a great partnership with Rock CF, and a race we believed in.

Then people actually ran it.

They chased PRs and Boston qualifiers. Ran their first Marathons and Half Marathons. Hit the gong at the finish. Cheered for strangers. Told their friends about it. And told us they wanted to come back.

Now we're heading into year two, and this thing is growing.

We already have more Marathoners registered than we had on race day last year. The Half Marathon is almost there, too. And we still have two months to go.

That's the part we're really excited about.

More runners on the roads. More people chasing big goals together. More people finishing in Port Austin. More miles supporting the Rock CF Foundation and people living with cystic fibrosis.

Year two is going to be a good one.

Registration prices increase tomorrow night.

If you're trying to decide if Thumb Coast works for you, here's what last year's runners told us:

Registration prices increase next Monday, September 7 at 11:59 pm EST. This is the final price increase before race day.

We're just over two months out from the Rock CF Thumb Coast Marathon, Half Marathon, & 5K.

Flat, USATF-certified courses. Pace teams. A point-to-point run along Lake Huron. A finish line in downtown Port Austin. And a race that supports the Rock CF Foundation and people living with cystic fibrosis.

The 2026 Rock CF Thumb Coast Marathon, Half, and 5K medal is here!

The stained glass medal design depicts the beauty of Michigan's Thumb - the sun, sky, water, lighthouse, and earth. The finish is brushed medal. Each distance has a different ribbon.

All regular and virtual finishers receive a medal. You also have the option to skip the swag and save some cash with economy registration.

We'll drop the link to registration in the comments. Don't wait too long; registration prices increase after September 7 at 11:59 pm EST.

Check out your packet pickup options for race weekend! Grab your bib and Sweatshirt (and any additional sweet swag you want to snag) early on Saturday or grab it at the start line on Sunday.

If you're taking a shuttle to the Marathon or Half Marathon start line and didn't pick up your bib on Saturday, you'll pick up your race packet at the shuttle check in in Port Austin. We'll have a gear check bag that will take your race swag (sweatshirt, etc.) back to the finish line for you.

It's three months until race day! A little over 13 weeks.

Training is starting get more specific. Long runs are getting longer. Dialing in nutrition and hydration. Starting to figure out race pace effort.

Want to be part of Thumb Marathon race day without running a marathon? We’re looking for passionate volunteers to help make race day unforgettable for our 2026 Thumb Marathon runners on Sunday, November 8 from Caseville to Port Austin.

We especially need help on the course at aid stations and from course marshalls.

If you’ve ever benefitted from the smile, support, or kindness of a volunteer during a race, now’s your chance to return the favor and earn some GREAT vibes. Whether you're a runner taking the fall off, a supportive friend or family member, or just someone who loves being part of the energy—we’d love to have you on our team.

All volunteers may choose either:
- A donation to a group
- A free future Trivium Racing or Rock CF race entry (Half Marathon distance or shorter)
- And all volunteers get this sweet pom hat!

Most people sign up because they want to run a Marathon, Half Marathon, or 5K. They like the date, the prospective weather, the course.

One of the reasons we're excited about this race is what those miles support.

The Rock CF Thumb Coast Marathon was created in partnership with the Rock CF Foundation, an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for people living with cystic fibrosis.

Emily Schaller founded Rock CF nearly 20 years ago after being diagnosed with CF herself. Since then, the organization has grown into a community that supports people living with cystic fibrosis through programs, scholarships, research initiatives, and advocacy.

At the same time, Emily, Trevor, and the Trivium Racing team are runners. We care deeply about putting on a race that's organized, welcoming, and worth training for.

Those two things go hand in hand.

You get a great day of running along Lake Huron, and together we help support a mission that's making a difference for people living with cystic fibrosis.
