Tucked inside Salt Creek Recreation Area are the historic structures of Camp Hayden, a WWII coastal defense base built in the 1940s to protect the entrance to Puget Sound. The concrete bunkers and artillery batteries were designed to withstand direct hits and still stand today, hidden throughout the trails and coastline.

Every lap at Salt Creek 24 is a chance to run through a piece of Washington history. 🇺🇸✨

This isn’t just a race, it’s an endurance showdown with one of the most beautiful views on the Peninsula waiting at the top. Every hour on the hour, runners take on Striped Peak, climbing nearly 1,000 feet through lush forest before bursting out to jaw-dropping views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the rugged Olympic coastline.

And again … until only one runner remains.

We’re adding bibs for kids 12 & under so the whole family can join the fun. 🏃‍♂️
Last year an 8-year-old ran 11 laps (15 miles!) and totally inspired us all.

We love seeing whole families celebrating movement and the outdoors together!
