The Plum City Summerfest will be here before we know it!

We are in the early stages of planning the Grand Parade!

We will implement prizes and awards again this year for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place! Last year’s floats were pretty incredible, and we are excited to see what everyone has in store for this year!

Also, we are currently in the process of looking for Grand Marshalls for the parade. If any couple/influential people come to mind, that have helped shape our community, please feel free to nominate them below!

Thanks Plum City for your continued support, in helping keep Summerfest and the Grand Parade going strong! ♥️🤍💙

First off, thank you Plum City for coming out and enjoying the parade yesterday afternoon! It was a hot one for sure!! We had 54 Floats participate!!

Our float winners this year were
1st-Plum City Care Center
2nd-City of Elmwood-UFO days float
3rd-The EPC high school cheerleaders

Special shout outs to to Paul Fetzer for announcing the parade, Jeff Bechel for the use of the microphones and speaker set up, the Village of Plum City Board members, the Plum City Legion, K&K poppin stop (for the 3 bags of popcorn for float winners), Molly’s on Main (for their gift card and drink tickets for the float winners), and Haglund’s Corner Bar (also for free drink tickets for the float winners).

Our Grand Marshals Carol and Denny Haglund, were adorable as ever, and definitely deserved the recognition for all that they have done for Plum City!

This was our first year as a parade committee. It was a lot of work, but was so rewarding! The compliments we received were well worth all of the time and energy we put into it.

We can’t wait to start planning for next year!

Bobbi Jo & Justin Hewitt
All of our kiddos as well, Emma, Dylan, Emily, Adison, Brook, Morgan, Courtney, Brody, and Grady ♥️

Today is the day! Please bring your completed registration forms with you to the parade line up (if you haven’t turned them in already). If you need a form still, please let one of the parade committee members know while lining up.

Also, you will be handed an index card to fill out with your name/name of business, along with a short description of what you would like to have Paul announce. Please hang on to this card, and when approaching the Duck pond, a parade committee member will grab the card from your float and hand it to Paul.

We will also be presenting 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place float winners this year. If your float is a winner, you will be handed your award at the same time Paul will announce your float. Please let us stop and take a picture of your float with your award.

Thank you all for taking time out of your day, and supporting the Plum City Summerfest Parade! We are excited to see you all!

We are excited to announce the 2025 Plum City Summerfest parade Grand Marshals, Dennis Sr. & Carol Haglund!!

Denny graduated from Plum City in 1957, and began farming. In 1959 he married Carol Kearns. Together they continued farming and started their family.

In 1975 they bought the Union House (Oasis). They continued running it together until 1985.

It was during that time, they sponsored the Memorial weekend softball tournaments. Carol and Denny continued sponsoring the softball tournaments, as well as, working with Steve Milliren to build and sponsor youth baseball.

In 1988 they purchased and renovated the T.A.D. Memorial hospital/nursing home. Carol and Denny worked side by side, and created a bar/restaurant/dance hall, named “The Pondview”. This is where Carol was known for her homemade chocolate chip cookies, pies, and meals. After ten years, they sold the business in 1998, which is now known as “Molly’s on Main”.

Along with running several successful businesses, Denny purchased and developed three new subdivisions throughout Plum City. During this time, Denny created over 20 new homes and several businesses.

Denny Sr. also served on the Plum City Village Board.

Carol and Denny are now both retired, and living a great life. They are loving relaxing at home, watching their grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up.

The Plum City Summerfest Parade Committee is beyond excited to honor this amazing couple, who has contributed so much to our little village.

Look for Carol and Denny next Saturday during the Grand parade!
