Hi everyone!

After much consideration, we’ve decided to postpone this year’s festival as we begin the search for a new team to oversee the planning, production, and ex*****on of the event.

We are truly grateful for the many people who have supported, celebrated, and shared their festival weekends with us over the past few years. It has meant so much to us, and we’re excited to find a great group of people who can step in and bring their own experience, energy, and vision to the town’s festivities.

If you or someone you know may be interested in taking on this role, please email us your contact information along with a short introduction about yourself, why you’d like to run the event, and any past experience working on or participating in live events.

Just like that, another year is in the books — and knock on wood, our team still has all their fingers and toes. 😄

A huge thank-you to everyone who spent part of their weekend with us. Whether you entered the car, bike, or tractor show, strutted your pup in the dog show, or just came down for a taco (or three), we’re grateful you were part of the fun.

Special thanks to JBS for sponsoring this year’s Car Show — your support helped make it all possible!

While Part 1 of the festival (the weekend prior) hit a few snags with scheduling curveballs, weather hiccups, and some last-minute changes, we were so thankful to see many of you still come out to support the vendors, cheer on the weight lifters, let your kiddos go wild on the inflatables, and jam out with the dueling pianos.

We want to give a heartfelt shout-out to the City of Plainwell, our incredible volunteers, the folks at Plainwell High School, and the generous sponsors who helped bring this event to life. Your support, time, and resources are what make weekends like these possible.

We know this wasn’t some over-the-top spectacle — but it was ours, and we’re proud of what we pulled off together. Thank you to those of you who have shared kind words, messages, and conversations throughout the last couple of weekends. It truly means a lot.

Tomorrow is Show Day!

🚗 Auto Show Participants:
Bringing a car or bike? Please enter from N. Main Street near the N. Sherwood intersection.

🚜 Tractor Show Participants:
If you’re bringing a tractor, please use the entrance by Ace Hardware on Bannister.

🐶 Dog Show Participants:
Head to the gazebo at Fannie Pell Park and be signed in by 10:30am.

All dogs must be on a leash.

Please bring your own waste bags.

Any dogs showing signs of aggression will be asked to leave for safety reasons.

We can’t wait to see you and your four-wheeled or four-legged friends tomorrow!

We can’t wait to see you and your fluffy family members this Saturday at the Dog Show!
(Just to be clear—fluffy means dogs, not your Uncle Paul with the questionable back hair 😆)

No pressure, no fancy tricks—this is a People’s Choice Dog Show!
🐶 Come strut your pup’s stuff at Fannie Pell Park at 10:30am
🏅 By 11:30am, we’ll have a couple of winners and a park full of happy, slobbery tails!

BONUS: The first 30 dog owners to arrive will get a participation medal!

Part 1 of the 2025 Island City Festival is officially in the books!

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy the fun — whether you shopped with our vendors, cheered on the weightlifting competition, grabbed something tasty from the food trucks, or sang along during the incredible dueling pianos show featuring Matt Giraud and Brian Griffin — we’re so glad you joined us!

We’re especially grateful to our zone sponsors: Commonwealth Financial, Hytech, and Jacob Large Allstate — thank you for helping make today’s activities possible.

Even though the weather held out (mostly), we want to give a big shoutout to Plainwell Schools and the City of Plainwell - Government for jumping in without hesitation when the forecast had us scrambling for backup plans. Your support made all the difference.

There’s so much more to say, but for now… let’s get ready to wrap things up with Part 2 on August 2nd in downtown Plainwell. We’ll see you there!
