Make Music Philly On Saturday, June 21, 2025, Philly joins thousands of other locations across the globe to celebrate the universal joy of live music.

World Music Day's concept began in 1982 with Fetes de la Musique in France and came to the US as National Music Day in 2006. Today, more than 700 cities in 110 countries have participated worldwide, highlighting the role of music in citizens’ lives both locally and as part of the global human family. MMP’s mission: To involve as many individuals, organizations, businesses, neighborhoods, etc in t

his one-day, cross-cultural event! Who qualifies as a musician: Any caliber of musician can perform. Professionals and amateurs of all ages and genres! What can become a MMP venue: anywhere in the city can become a backdrop for live music. How to Participate: All venues, artists and volunteers must register for free through makemusicphilly.org to be an official MMP event. Artists and/or venues can register events they’ve curated on their own or they can use a ‘matchmaking software’ within the MMP website that allows artists and venues to find each other and create events. Once events are approved by MMP, they will be displayed on map and citywide schedule on the website. www.makemusicphilly.org
