MS Tournament Directors,
Please note that the 2027 Majors, Elite Series, A-tier schedule and the A-Tier request form announcement have been released along with the A-Tier Request Form.
Important items from the A-Tier Request Form Announcement:
The submission deadline is EOD on Monday, October 12, 2026.
Be sure to reference the provided 2027 Schedule when choosing potential dates, as an A-Tier with conflicting divisions must be:
750 miles from a PDGA Major
500 miles from a DGPT Elite Series
200 miles from another A-Tier
Note that A-Tiers continue to have the same minimum payout requirements as in 2026:
Pro Added Cash requirement of $3,000 above 100% of Net Entry Fees
Amateur payout requirement of 110% of Net Entry Fees with a min. $25 Player Pack
Please note that every part of the A-Tier request form must be completed, and that at least four possible dates must be provided to allow the creation of a schedule that works for everyone without conflicts. If at least four possible dates are not provided, A-Tier status is unlikely to be awarded.
Quality and consistency are of foremost concern when awarding A-Tier status. Events seeking A-Tier status that do not have a sufficiently experienced TD/ATD team will not receive A-Tier status, even if the event has previously run as an A-Tier. The minimum requirement for an A-Tier TD is having been the TD of record (not ATD) for at least ten (10) sanctioned events of which at least six (6) were successful B-Tiers. Submissions with less than this requirement will be dismissed.
With the total number of sanctioned events, the number of A-Tiers in the US and Canada will continue to be limited to provide more room for B and C-Tier events on the schedule, so not all events requesting A-Tier status will receive it—even those that have previously run as A-Tiers.
Only select successful multi-year B-Tiers will even be considered for upgrading to new A-Tier status in 2027. The number of requests received will determine how many years an event must have been a successful B-Tier to be considered, but the past several years the cut off has been that the event ran successfully as a B-Tier for at least three of the last six years, but this standard could be increased if we get too many requests. Requests that don’t meet the set minimum standard will be dismissed.
Our goal is to finalize and release the full 2027 A-Tier schedule on or about November 2, 2026.
Thanks,
Daymon Parker
