Please join this cast and me for our rescheduled concert of selections from my original musical, The Thirteenth Olympian, at Illinois Central College's Lecture Recital Hall on Friday, October 24 and Saturday, October 25 at 7:30pm. The performance will feature an extremely talented cast including Brady Ellenbecker, Nicole Lang, and Mackenzie Thompson. Nine songs will be performed for your enjoyment.

Please purchase tickets to this event to show this cast who has put much work into it the love they deserve. I cannot wait for the performances next weekend, and I genuinely hope as many people will be there as possible.

It is with an extremely heavy heart that I must cancel this two performances of The Thirteenth Olympian this weekend because I am in the hospital. It will be postponed, and hopefully more cast members will be added before its rescheduled date.

I truly appreciate the support of every single person who purchased tickets and was looking forward to watching this show’s development. I am sorry to have disappointed you, but I hope you see the show in the future. Conversely, I will genuinely understand your unwillingness to try attending again.

Your tickets will be refunded, and I will let you know when the rescheduled dates of the performance will be.

I have spent seven years and change working on this show, and the fact that medical issues are preventing me from watching its further development is heartbreaking.

I am so sorry. No amount of hyperbole can express my sorrow and frustration. I am very, very sorry.

As performances at the Illinois Central College's Performing Arts Center approach, it is time for me to find ushers. There is no limit to how many ushers there can be, but the more the merrier. If there are empty seats, the usher can see the musical for free, but they should purchase a ticket to be confident.

If you are interested in being an usher for the performances on either August 22 or 23 (arrive at 6:30 PM), please comment to let me know when.

Q: What is your dream role in musical theater?
A: I have a few in no particular order: Alexander Hamilton, Aaron Burr, and Benjamin Coffin III.

Q: Who is your favorite god/goddess from Greek mythology?
A: I would have to go with Hades. The toughest job in all of the pantheon is managing all the
souls all the time.

Q: What is your favorite musical?
A: Currently, it is Epic the Musical by Jorge Rivera-Herrans.

Q: Why should you come see The Thirteenth Olympian: A Concert Reading?
A: I’ve enjoyed the diversity of voices and musical styles throughout the entire show.

For the next few weeks before The Thirteenth Olympian: A Concert Reading opens at the ICC Performing Arts Center on Aug. 22 and 23, and before tickets go on sale on Aug. 4, I would like to introduce you to our cast!

First up is our ensemble member: Adayla Carlson.

Q: What is your dream role in musical theater?

A: I have many dream roles but one role I would absolutely love to play is Maria in The Sound of Music.

Q: What is your favorite god/goddess from Greek mythology?

A: I enjoy the story of Hades and Persephone. Persephone is
definitely my favorite.

Q: What is your favorite musical?

A: I have a lot of favorite musicals, but one I will always gravitate towards is Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella.

Q: Why should you come see The Thirteenth Olympian: A Concert Reading?

A: It’s a new story with music that pulls you in. It is something no one has seen before, and it will definitely be something for everyone.
