Thank You, Penn Valley! Rockin' the Gateway Wraps a Fantastic 2026 Season
To everyone who came out to Western Gateway Park this summer: thank you! You made the 2026 season of Rockin' the Gateway one to remember.
We started on June 13th with the ABBA magic of Summer Night City. Life in the Fast Lane followed on July 11th with a note-for-note Eagles tribute. On August 1st, Journey Revisited had everyone singing along and dancing. Hipper Than Hip brought the funk, soul, and Motown on August 29th. Steelin' Dan closed the season in style on October 3rd.
It's been wonderful to see our community come together, with our vital local media, nonprofits, and neighbors all pitching in. Special thanks to KNCO for their continued sponsorship. That community spirit is what makes music in the park so special.
Now, will you help me top this next year? Send us your dream tribute band, and stay tuned!

On October 3 the third season of Rockin’ the Gateway concludes with the return of Steelin’ Dan. Steelin' Dan is Northern California's premier-and award-winning-tribute to the legendary music of Steely Dan. For nearly two decades, this powerhouse 10-piece ensemble has captivated audiences across California and Northern Nevada, building a devoted fan base and a reputation for musical excellence. “From the straightforward pop/rock of “Reelin’ in the Years” to the quirky, jazz-infected “Green Earrings”, even the most discriminating Steely Dan fans will be hard-pressed to find flaws in Steelin' Dan’s amazingly accurate arrangements and marksman like musicianship!" - Sacramento Magazine

Last night my Rockin' the Gateway concert series featured Hipper Than Hip. Here's some pictures accompanied by their latest single Levitating. Have some water close by because the song is FIRE! DL the song from iTunes or Spotify.
