This year's event will be in the Capitol District and will take place on October 19th, from 1 p.m. Ran exclusively by volunteers with the Omaha Jaycees young professionals group, the 2017 Omaha Beer and Bacon Festival is a fundraising event for United Cerebral Palsy of Nebraska and the Jaycees, held outside the Old Mattress Factory. It was created in 2013 and has generated nearly $35,000 for the p
revious non-profit beneficiaries (Ronald McDonald House Charities of Omaha from 2013-15 and Wounded Warrior Family Support in 2016). The Beer and Bacon Festival is a 21+ event. The Beer and Bacon Festival combines a beer tasting with a bacon themed food competition. Ticket holders are given the opportunity to sample cold brews and bacony goodness from the various vendors at the event. The Old Mattress Factory is also open for those who want to take a break from the Festival, though their cold drinks and food are not included with the Festival ticket. The winner of the food competition gets to compete at the World Food Championships.
