The last few days have been pretty exciting and I can't wait to share what I've been working on. I'll start with yesterday. I got to spend the day with my friends miss Lily Sunshine & Autumn Colvin & their new friend Alice Coconut Buttermilk. =) This is peak girlhood.

I've been photographing Lily since 2021 and our first photoshoot we paid homage to Alice in Wonderland so I'm loving Lily's name choices. More photos to come from this and the rest of what I'm excited about from the week.

I had someone refer to me as an “outsider” of where I like to do the majority of my business- Guthrie.

I lived in Logan County 2015-2020 and was looking to buy a house there by myself in 2021. I helped raise a kid in Logan County during those years. A handful of Logan County kids used to come to my house for play dates and art days - I’d buy the kids wooden crafts and we’d paint in my dining area. I still get reminders from my bank to pay “Logan County #2 water bill.” I LOVE Logan County. All through the last 5 years of my 20’s- early 30’s Logan County was my “safe place”/ where I drove home to relax. After a long day that long stretch of prairie land with cows and ponds was my visual stimulants to relax.

In my early teens it’s where my best friend lived so even then it was a safe haven. Lots of land to play games on. My dad would drive me all the way from Tinker AFB to her house and in my younger 20’s and sprinkles of my late 30’s I make the same drive myself. Sometimes to enjoy events behind a camera or just to go shop. I’m never kidding about my love for thrift store shopping in Guthrie and the boutiques.

I genuinely love Logan County and the residents and it’s beauty. It’s why you see me quite often even when I’m not working, living, or dating someone out there because supporting the places I live are a huge deal. Long before 2020 boom of new residents and businesses I was dreaming of owning a photography studio in downtown Guthrie (but definitely could not afford it). So if you’re ever questioning my “why” there’s my why.

I’m only 20 mins outside of Guthrie today. I’d be back in a heartbeat if my day career hadn’t made my drive 1 hour to where my day career is typically located. It doesn’t matter how far away Guthrie is. I’m always coming back because I love the scenery, little shops and the community that made my late 20’s and early 30’s have heartwarming memories. I have in fact been a resident of the area and loved it.

Every year since 2022 when it started I schedule around the Calderón Dance Festival. This year the festival showcased brilliant professional performances from flamenco dancers, singers, and partnered with the local dance teams from the public schools to show off and showcase what they've all learned. Following the days performances were dance teachers who've taught names like Justin Bieber leading the crowd through learning routines and performing them.

Dance and culture has always been prominent in my house holds growing up as a Spanish Filipina (+ Irish Cherokee). My parents decorated their homes with art of matadors and flamenco dancers. I'm thrilled that The Calderón Dance Festival & Everything Goes Dance Studio brings that culture to Oklahoma and shares it with the community. It's beauty and skill breathe fresh air into Oklahoma's communities and next generation.

Side note for dance studios: I am always down for trade out for Spanish style and country style dance classes. I LOVE TO DANCE.

Last weekend was an exciting whirlwind of weddings — from photographing a beautiful wedding solo at The Ever-Moore Estates to assisting at a bridal show event bright and early the next morning. Being surrounded by so much love, excitement, and celebration was such a rewarding experience. 🤍

At a wedding not too long ago I was asked if I do bo***ir AND if I do it with automotive. I said yes in person but, as a reminder to everyone who started following me years ago on my personal page - YES! I ABSOLUTELY still offer bo***ir INDOORS OR OUTDOORS and especially with automotive. I just don't put it on this page unless everyone's all covered for my conservative clients. I like everyone to feel comfortable around me.
