Partying at Kelleys Island

This warm day yesterday, gets us in a mood for spring! And spring brings folks back to their cottages or homes on the Islands of Lake Erie. Soon the Jet Express and the ferries will be bringing people to the islands for fun and frolic. Boaters will be getting their vessels in the water for good times at the marinas, and communities on the mainland, and taking trips to beautiful Kelleys Island, South Bass Island, Middle Bass Island, and for some Pelee Island in Canada, and the mainland harbors of both the USA and Canada. It is a season worth waiting for. And on those days in between, a good time for golf, bike riding, family gathers, and hanging with friends. So hand in there folks, we're just two shakes of a lambs tail away from good warm weather fun!!!

Efforts are being made..............

Yesterday, National Fraternal Order of Police President Yoes testified in Congress about the escalating violence directed at law enforcement officers.

President Yoes said "Since the FOP began collecting and verifying this information just seven years ago, 2,553 officers have been shot, 415 killed in the line of duty, and the nation has seen a disturbing rise in ambush-style attacks. In the last five years alone, 620 officers were shot in 483 separate ambush attacks, resulting in 135 line-of-duty deaths. Of these deaths, more than half were not even responding to a call for service, they were ambushed because they wore a badge."

President Yoes called for the passage of the Protect and Serve Act and we join this call. We call on the Ohio General Assembly to pass the Larry Henderson Act. And, we call on everyone to condemn violence against the police at every opportunity.

Thank you to the National Fraternal Order of Police and President Yoes for speaking out and standing up on behalf of law enforcement officers.
