Well even the best laid plans… 2.5 inches of rain has already fallen and there is still more predicted today. We took a break in the rain as opportunity to get packed up. There is still a lot to see and do at Fort Ligonier today and because of the weather, it’s a FREE admission day for everyone!

We wanted to say thank you to everyone at the fort who worked tirelessly for months in preparation of this weekend and give a shout out to Matt (pictured) as he wore all the hats possible, rolled with the punches and is still waiting to great you with a smile!

We are still at Fort Ligonier for the day, so come on out! Inspire of the weathers best efforts there are still awesome things happening today and as an added bonus it will be a day for everyone who wants to come visit!

Today promises to be quite busy with Fort Ligonier Days Inc.!

Fort Ligonier opens at 10 AM
Parade in town at 11 AM
Battle at 1 PM
Cannon Firing 2 PM
Battle at 3 PM
Fort Ligonier closes at 5 PM

Good evening!

Day one of Fort Ligonier Days Inc. was awesome! We had over 600 visitors through Fort Ligonier not including the school groups!

Highlights of today included:
🍁 warming up during set up 😜
🍁 a mom exclaiming ‘my 5 year old has never been this engaged with anything before’
🍁 a younger fan saying she didn’t like history in school but we might change her mind, to be decided on her second visit tomorrow
🍁 presenting Matt with two laundry bats for the sites program use, with some of the oak that came from the tree that fell this summer

Special announcement!

This coming Tuesday (October 13) Leigh Ann will be giving her talk on Tape at the Shiremanstown Historical Society!

This talk will start at 7, and explain what tape is, what it was used for, in the 18th century and how to make it. It will be a fascinating discussion/demonstration.

This event is hosted by the Shiremanstown Historical Society but is FREE and open to the public!

Today is the day, we will be loading the vehicle and driving out to Fort Ligonier!

We will be set up tomorrow demonstrating from 10-5 and as an awesome bonus the Museum is having a day!

Saturday and Sunday we will be set up and demonstrating as well from 10-5! Come out and see what this fort has to offer!

To quote a 10 year old from our last visit: there is always something cool happening at the fort!

We are just days away from Fort Ligonier Days Inc.! This Friday, Saturday and Sunday we will be set up and demonstrating in the lower part of the fort from 10-5. We will also have our wares ready and available!

If you won’t be able to get to Fort Ligonier this weekend because you will be at Colonial Market Days you can still get a few things from us at Samson Historical’s sewing marquee, they have a nice selection of stays tapes and pin pillows that can only be had from visiting in person!

Which ever event you choose to visit, we hope you have a fantastic weekend!

We can’t wait for Fort Ligonier Days Inc. this weekend! We will be set up in the fort, where we can see the Fort Ligonier reenactment!
