A WORD OF ADVICE:

For individuals interested in attending a Carnival for the first time…

1. Try to join groups such as this page to get as much info as possible to help in your planning. There are often many WhatsApp chats for each Carnival which is the easiest way to stay up to date with info. If you see anyone advertising a chat… join.

2. Research and read about the Carnival. There are a few influencers in the Carnival Community that have great blogs that provide info on everything from how to plan, choosing bands/costumes, fetes to attend, accommodations suggestions etc. Here’s a few

3. The recommended time to start planning for a international Carnival is 6-12 months before as flights, accommodations and mas bands can sell out quickly.

4. If you’re planning to attend alone, it’s safest to purchase a carnival package through a reputable provider. You will be able to meet others and attend events/parade with a group.
BE CAUTIOUS WITH CHOOSING WHOM YOU BOOK ANY ACCOMMODATIONS OR SERVICES WITH. There have been a number of unfortunate situations with Airbnb’s canceling last min leaving ppl with no other reasonable options . There have also been individuals that have offered services such as carnival packages, and costume pick up services, and not delivered on the service or not provided services as advertised . Please use reputable services, that have provided the service in the past and read reviews, ask in groups, google, to get feedback.
