Most FinTech pitches sound the same.

Faster checkout. Cleaner interface. "Disrupting" payments.

But when you actually look at what gets recognized in this space, it's rarely the interface. It's what changed for the person using it.

Who could access money who couldn't before. Who got approved for something that used to be out of reach. Who paid less, or waited less, or got a chance they wouldn't have gotten five years ago.

That's the bar for BOLD Awards' FinTech category this year. Not the newest design. The actual shift in who gets included.

What if the biggest decisions in your leadership journey weren’t planned at all?

For Vadym Ivanenko, there wasn’t one defining moment that led him into payments and banking infrastructure.

It started with a problem.

A client needed a payment gateway. So he and his team built one.

Then came digital wallets. White-label digital banks. Crypto. And eventually, 15 years of experience in fintech and banking infrastructure.

His journey is a reminder that leadership isn’t always about having a five-year plan.

Sometimes, it’s about recognizing an opportunity, taking the risk, learning along the way, and having the courage to see where it takes you.

Today, Vadym leads enterprise-grade fintech solutions for banks and governments across Europe and Central Asia.
