Sister Runs Marathon To Honor Sister 10/14/2012 Running to wage the war against blood cancer. Affiliated with The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I Her story is below.

I am running my first marathon, 26.2 miles, in Honor of my sister Tara who passed from Secondary MDS. This page is designed to address viewers to interact with me on any questions about how my training is going and about the fundraising. I did some math and found that if just 250 people donated $20.00 each...this would raise $5000.00 to go to help fund The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in the war

against wiping out blood cancer. I am running this race because it was in October that Tara received her stem-cell transplant, which she unfortunately rejected. So this is a special month to me and I know that she is shining down on me saying, "Go do this sis and GO BIG!" So I'm doing this as BIG as I can. Please join me in helping to fight this war against the plague of the century...and donate to this cause. By donating not only are you a part of a huge potential cure, but you're also helping to honor those who have battled this disease and lost, those who battled and survived and those who are battling still this very moment. And you are helping me get to San Francisco to run for them!!!

Do to multiple injuries, I won't be running very many races, if any this year until i have everything taken care of; back & bi-lateral knee injures.
I will, however, be running, jogging, walking, bike riding, and swimming in order to stay in shape, as long as I am able...PLEASE KEEP ME IN YOUR PRAYERS!

I'm going to San Francisco...my sister's favorite place, to run the marathon thanks to everyone who helped donate to get me there! I appreciate you all being so generous, especially in such financial times of difficulty. Thank you all so much!

Today would have been my sis's 31st birthday...I believe Christ sent this verse to me from her to help relieve me from the pain I am in. I will be running in her honor today in Middletown, NY: 17 North Street (4-mile race) ~~ Tara legs & God Speed

A co-worker shared with me yesterday that her mother who was diagnosed with breast cancer about a month ago just passed away yesterday...we have lost another precious person to this nasty ass disease! Prayers for the family of Viola Bautista ~ may she rest in peace ~ for she has entered rest in the Kingdom of the Lord, along with many others....dance with my sissy Viola :)

Tomorrow I will be running the Summer Solstice Run in 95 degree weather, which according to the news is supposed to feel like 110 degrees. This doesn't include humidity! Another one to add to the list of runs that Tara would be so proud of and now I can be praising God that she gave me the extra push to do!

So I have ran about 60 miles in the last 2 weeks. My fundraising is going well! Multiple checks came in the mail over the last week and a couple of cash donations! Thank you to everyone who donated online as well!
