"The essential subject of Awake in the Dark is memory, as the characters gradually discover the truths of their pasts, revealed to them like Chinese boxes: boxes within boxes within boxes." The New York Times

"...Brave and bracing...Awake in the Dark is plotted in that perfect way that stops our breath even as our brain hums with pleasure at the inevitable, internal logic.” Cleveland Plain Dealer.

With music by acclaimed composer, Ben Moore, starring Antoinette LaVecchia and Juliana Sass, directed by Maria Mileaf, set design by Neil Patel. With Jack Kessler (viola), Nathanial LaNasa (piano), & Todd Palmer (clarinet). An Equity approved showcase.

We're coming up on TEN YEARS since we shot this film in the woods upstate. The feature took on the pressures, powers, and stigmas facing teen girls in the social media age. These actors have grown into such amazing adults, from Olivia DeJonge as Priscilla in Baz Lehrman's Elvis, to Willa Cuthrell interning at sundance while pursuing an MFA in directing at USC, from Kara Hayward's recent role in Slayers to Georgie Henley's performance in The Spanish Princess in addition to writing and directing. So inspiring.

We’ll be going down memory lane with some photos and stories 🧡
